The Red Dead Redemption 2 UFO continues Rockstar Games' tradition of adding some sort of alien mystery into their triple-A titles, like Grand Theft Auto V, but here's how to solve the mystery and find the UFO's location. For the most part, Red Dead Redemption 2 is rooted in the currently-neglected Western genre, which sees players gang-fighting, robbing, hunting, and, above all, surviving in the harsh conditions that plagued the Old West.
However, in addition to giving players another grounded Western story in the vein of 2010's acclaimed Red Dead Redemption game, this year's Red Dead Redemption 2 follows in the footsteps of Rockstar's GTA V and gives players their own Cowboys & Aliens mystery to solve, but, unfortunately, it's something that may pass most people by. So, here's a quick guide to help players uncover and solve Red Dead Redemption 2's UFO mystery.

To start with, once players progress far enough into Red Dead Redemption 2, they will be able to travel through New Hanover. At that point, players should travel to a cabin (Hani's Bethel) located near an unnamed pond (not Moonstone Pond, that's too far north) just north of Emerald Station. On the map, players should be able to see a path leading to the cabin off the road. Inside that cabin, players will find all sorts of trinkets, including a Cigarette Card Set, but what's most important is a note that starts the UFO mystery.
Once players find the note, they should head outside and set up a camp until its nighttime. Then, at 2 am ("half moon"), players can walk back inside the cabin and see a green glow shining through. That's when the UFO will appear overhead for about two hours, in-game time. It's not possible to see the UFO from standing outside the cabin, though it may be possible to trigger it from inside the cabin and then run outside quickly to see it flying away - but players have to be inside Hani's Bethel first. After finding the note and seeing the UFO, players can then head to Mount Shann in Big Valley, just north of Strawberry in West Elizabeth.
This is where things get a bit confusing: at Mount Shann, players should climb up to the mountain's peak and wait there until nighttime (it's unclear if there's a specific time, however), at which point a second UFO will appear off in the distance. Do not head to the formation of rocks, which is located in an adjacent peak of Mount Shann. While it's been theorized online that the second UFO would appear at that peak or that players should head there first before going back to the cabin in New Hanover, those rocks actually have nothing to do with Red Dead Redemption 2's UFO mystery... yet, that is.
