Beverly Hills, 90210 still ranks as one of the most popular TV series of all time. The wildly popular 90s teen drama remained on air from 1990 to 2000, piling up 292 episodes over that span. The show was nominated for four Golden Globes during its run and won both Kids' and People's Choice Awards. It seems everybody loved 90210!
Truth be told, there is a lot to like about Scott Scanlon until his sad self-inflicted demise in front of David's face. However, as an awkward and bullied nerd, if by no one other than his mean classmates, he is one of the most hated characters on the show.
Before accidentally shooting himself with his father's gun, Scott wanted nothing more than for David to like him. He's annoying, goofy, and constantly pestering. Despite being a good friend, Scott is hard to root for.
9 Tony Marchette
Remember the subplot that includes Dylan's dad, Jack McKay, getting entangled with a ruthless gangster named Tony Marchette? Yeah, that dude sucked!
Marchette conducted a plot to plant a car-bomb under Jack McKay's vehicle. When Dylan catches wind of this, he tracks down Marchette, only to inadvertently fall in love with Marchette's daughter, Antonia. In a Greek-like tragedy, Marchette attempts to kill Dylan to rid him of his daughter but ends up killing Antonia instead.
8 Jesse Vasquez
In the early-going, Andrea Martin's mature domestic partner Jesse Vasquez seemed to be her perfect match. However, as time went on, Jesse proved to be one of the most loathsome characters of all.
After the honeymoon phase of the relationship fizzles, Jesse and Andrea do nothing but argue over how to raise their baby, Hannah. Their relationship hits the rocks until Dylan intervenes and suggests they begin communicating better. Even so, by season 8, Andrea reveals she and Jesse are divorcing.
7 Ray Pruitt
Judging by the six-episode meta-reunion of 90210 in 2019, Ray Pruitt's abusive treatment of Donna has never been forgotten about.
Ray Pruitt was the emotionally unstable musician boyfriend of Donna following her time dating David. Coming from the wrong side of the tracks, Ray was already insecure about hobnobbing with the rich kids. But when he cheats on Donna with Valerie and begins obsessively stalking Donna when she begins dating a college quarterback, Ray shows his true colors.
6 Lucinda Nicholson
While Brandon certainly loved his time gallivanting with his college professor, Lucinda Nicholson, her conniving character is downright detested by almost everyone else.
As a domineering and cutthroat personality, Lucinda chronically cheats on her spouse, Professor Corey Randall. When Brandon finds out about her marriage, he ends their trysts. But when Lucinda gets divorced, they begin dating in earnest. But Lucinda can't keep her eyes off of Dylan, prompting Brandon to do the right thing and end their relationship.
5 Jackie Taylor
If Kelly Taylor is considered a bristly ice-queen, she has no one to blame but her mother Jackie. Sheesh!
Stuck up and conceited as can be, Jackie used to be a model. Therefore, she acts spoiled and entitled, barking demands and berating anyone who dares to glance at her sideways. Her volatile behavior stems from chronic drug and alcohol abuse, which prompts her to attend rehab. Still, Jackie's wicked ways lead to Kelly's own battle with addiction. What are mothers for?
4 Matt Durning
Some people may have liked the good-mannered nature of Matt Durning, the upstanding lawyer who nearly married Kelly Taylor. Not us, as he drove a direct wedge between Kelly and Brandon, the two lovebirds who are meant to be together.
Of course, when Matt drops acid and ends up cheating on Kelly with another girl, the hatred increases. Kelly eventually confesses her love of Dylan, prompting her time with Matt to end. Oh, there's one other thing. Matt was married the entire time to a woman in NY named Lauren!
3 Valerie Malone
It's hard not to love Tiffany Amber-Thiessen, but her role as the mischevious, feather-ruffling vixen Valerie Malone is anything but lovable.
Truth be told, Valerie is a conniving backstabber who cannot be trusted. The old family friend of the Walshes movies to Beverly Hills and lives in Brenda's bedroom while she's away in England. As a result of being sexually assaulted as a young girl, Valerie has formed a protective shell around herself. She puts on a goody-two-shoes facade in public but is secretly a conning schemer.
2 Colin Robbins
Straight up, when you get the queen of 90210, Kelly Taylor, addicted to cocaine, you better be among the most hated side characters of all!
Indeed, the hot New York artist comes to L.A. and immediately hits it off with Kelly. We should have known Colin was trouble when he mentions his friendship to Valerie. After hitting rock bottom with a cocaine addiction that takes Kelly down with him, their relationship ends on bad terms. Colin then goes on to date Valerie, using her assets as collateral to jump a jail bond. Thankfully Brandon and Steve track Colin down and send him back to the hoosgow!
1 Gina Kincaid
Can you really think of a more detestable supporting character in 90210 than Gina Kincaid? Yeah, thought not!
Brought to L.A. as an ice-skating cousin of Donna Martin (supposedly), Gina instantly makes enemies in Beverly Hills. The series regulars give Steve trouble for spending too much time with Gina. Later, Gina's romance with Dylan dies out, at which point she begins a relationship with David. In the end, it turns out that Gina is the long-lost sister of Donna and the daughter of John Martin. Despite giving a heartfelt eulogy at John's wedding, the gang is happy to see her leave town in the end.
