Though Disney has a few highly anticipated animations releasing in 2020 including Onward, Soul, and Raya and the Last Dragon, the film studio is also putting out a series of live-action films throughout the year. These projects include a live-action retelling of an animated classic, an adventurous take on a popular Disneyland attraction, a princess-superhero hybrid, and more. We're here to reveal all the details behind Disney's upcoming live-action movies.

In this list, we'll be looking at all the upcoming titles with confirmed 2020 release dates. While it's always possible that these dates will be shift around, most of them should stay as they are. With that out of the way, it's time we get excited about all the magic to come! Here is every currently scheduled live-action Disney film set to premiere in 2020.

8 Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made

The first live-action movie coming available for streaming is this comedy-drama based on the hybrid comic book series by Stephan Pastis.

The movie tells the story of an 11-year-old boy who solves mysteries alongside his giant polar bear in Portland. The trailer reveals Timmy chatting with his therapist, going on adventures, and seeing little bits of magic hidden in the world.

Though Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made will be premiering on Jan. 25 at Sundance, it will become available to general audiences via Disney+ on Feb. 7.

7 Stargirl

Based on the novel by Jerry Spinelli, Stargirl tells about a shy Arizona high school student named Leo whose world gets turned upside down after he meets the new student: a colorful, ukulele-playing, energy-filled tenth-grader who deems herself "Stargirl." Though Leo's classmates fail to be charmed by her magic, he quickly becomes entranced.

The film stars singer-songwriter Grace VanderWaal in the titular role and Graham Verchere as the boy who becomes interested in her.

Stargirl is destined to make Disney+ sparkle on March 13.

6 Mulan

Let's get down to business and defeat the Huns!

Disney's 1998 animated legend of Mulan is getting a live-action remake. While the titular heroine will once again disguise herself as a man to enter the Chinese army in her father's place, the music and quips of Mulan's sidekick, Mushu, will be absent in the new film. While this might disappoint some, others are excited to see the story take on a more serious tone, full of intense action and drama.

Mulan is set to premiere in theaters on March 27.

5 Artemis Fowl

The Artemis Fowl book series, written by Eoin Colfer, is seeing its first book installment earn a theatrical release.

The sci-fi adventure chronicles the exploits of the titular 12-year-old genius who comes from a family full of crafty and successful criminals. After his dad disappears out of nowhere, it's up to Artemis to put his skills to the test by tracking him down. With names including Josh Gad and Judi Dench appearing on the cast list, you can expect a lot of life and energy in this production.

Artemis Fowl is sneaking its way onto the big screen on May 29.

4 Jungle Cruise

Emily Blunt and Dwanye "The Rock" Johnson are pairing up to take on this adventure film based on the Disney theme park attraction, Jungle Cruise.

The story follows a 20th-century riverboat captain and scientist (as well as her younger brother) who team up to track down the Tree of Life hidden deep in a jungle. While the group is eager to find the magical tree, they're forced to deal with a competing expedition and the vicious animals that roam free.

While the film was originally set to be released in Oct. 2019, its opening was pushed to July 24, 2020.

3 The One And Only Ivan

The beloved children's novel known as The One and Only Ivan will be brought to life via a film that combines live-action shots with animation.

The fantasy-drama tells of a gorilla named Ivan, a dog named Bob, and an old elephant named Stella who find themselves trapped inside the Exit 8 Big Top Mall and Video Arcade. The problem? They have no idea how they ended up at this location. After a new, mistreated little elephant is brought to the mall, the gang decides to take care of her and set out to make things better.

Sam Rockwell voices Ivan, Angelina Jolie takes on Stella, and Dany DeVito gives life to Bob. Their talents can be witnessed in theaters on Aug. 14.

2 Secret Society Of Second-Born Royals

Though we're still waiting on a full trailer (and firm release date), a teaser for Secret Society of Second-Born Royals was recently premiered. This contemporary sci-fi film, starring Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Skylar Astin, and Élodie Yung, tells of a princess named Sam who has grown tired with royal life. When she discovers she has superpowers, however, things start to turn around.

This revelation has Sam uncovering more secrets, including that she's part of a royal society that has been destined to maintain peace throughout the land.

Secret Society of Second-Born Royals is being crowned with a late-in-the-year Disney+ release date.

1  Magic Camp

Topping off the list as the last scheduled live-action Disney film of 2020 (at the time of publication) is Magic Camp. This family comedy, created by actor and comedian Steve Martin, is the story of a man who returns to his childhood magic camp with hopes of kicking his career off the ground. He soon is disappointed to learn that the place isn't all he dreamed it would be.

Adam DeVine stars as Andy while Jeffer Tambor and Gillian Jacobs are also showing up on the cast list.

Though no firm release date has been revealed, it is likely that the film will appear on Disney+ in the fall/winter of 2020.
