The royal family's Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton give a friendly shout out to their in-laws, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle, and baby Archie in their 2019 highlight video. It's been a rocky year for these two royal families as the brotherly competition has caused a divide.
The British Empire's royal family have held up centuries of traditions and pride for the British people. Before Meghan Markle entered the picture, Prince William and Prince Harry were inseparable. The two famous brothers performed most of their royal duties side by side and had a fun dynamic. Sadly, since the last royal wedding, the two princes’ have been far from close, leading many to believe there is a rift between the royals. Harry even admitted in a documentary that aired back in October that he and William aren't as close as they have been in the past. He revealed that it's normal that with all of the pressure and scrutiny of the public, there is bound to be disagreements, but insists they are brothers and they will always be there for each other.
After Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan spent their Christmas separate from the rest of the royal family by leaving to Canada to enjoy time at a private estate in Vancouver Island, Canada with Meghan's mother. While Prince William and Duchess Kate spent the holidays at the palace with the Queen. This added more tinder to the rumors that the two families were feuding. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge rang in the New Year with a highlights reel of 2019. The video showed mostly the Duke and Duchess doing what they do best: shaking hands, meeting world leaders, partaking in ceremonies and enjoying life with their adorable three children. However there were a few frames of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan, that made the final cut - check out the video below:
The Kensington Royal account shared a part of the clip which included the two princes together at Archie's christening. There was also a picture of Harry and Meghan holding Archie. Besides the highlight of Archie's Christening, there was the family's formal portrait of Harry and Meghan showing off their newborn son. Then, there were clips from both of the Duchesses, Kate and Meghan, at Wimbledon as they cheer on Serena Williams during her match. The clip, which is just over two minutes, showed just how busy this royal couple was in 2019.
Though fans think that there is still a royal rift going on between them, the fact that William and Kate made an effort to put Harry, Meghan and Archie in their video shows that they are attempting to be cordial. Though some fans think the two seconds that Harry and Meghan appear in the video are all because they had to include them for appearances purposes. Regardless, 2020 is a new start and hopefully, this means all parties will be able to move forward.
