The Bachelor: 8 Reasons Victoria F. Is The Franchise's Most Controversial Contestant (& 2 Hilarious Reasons)
It's that time of year again when the savagely popular ABC dating show The Bachelor comes to an end as quickly as it starts. Season 24 of the franchise has actually given host Chris Harrison some credibility when he claims, year after year: "this will be the most dramatic season in Bachelor history!"

Pilot Pete's season is the first time the popular blogger Reality Steve hasn't been able to accurately predict (and then spoil) the winner of the coveted final rose before the season begins airing, but it was the endless information he received about one particular contestant that gave Reality Steve the most suspicion: Victoria Fuller. The 26-year-old Virginia Beach native has caused a commotion amongst fans, who have sarcastically labeled her "Fictoria" based on the contestant's fictitious claims and behavior. Here is a list of eight reasons Victoria Fuller is the most controversial contestant in Bachelor Nation history, and two reasons that are simply just hilarious!
10 Controversial: Skydiving Extravaganza
On the way to her first one-on-one with Pilot Pete, Victoria begins to freak out after making the assumption they're going skydiving as they pull up to an airport. Admitting she's afraid of heights, Victoria tells the camera: "I'm doing something I normally never do, and, I'm terrified." Victoria seems fine in the plane but continues to cause a scene when the two arrive at an amusement park to partake in some adventurous rides.
After digging up a photo from Victoria's Instagram (that has since been deleted) of The Bachelor contestant skydiving back in 2o14, fans accused Victoria of being phony and playing it up for the cameras. Victoria responded to the criticism on her account: “For everyone asking who has sent in 90 million messages about me skydiving, yes I’ve been skydiving before. Do I ever want to do it again? No! Am I allowed to feel that way? Yes.”
9 Controversial: Reality Steve
The salacious reality TV blogger Reality Steve first reported about Victoria back in October 2019. "I wanted to finally report to you on everything I’ve heard on Victoria Fuller since before I had even announced she was a contestant on this season. I can honestly say in all my years doing this, I have never had so many negative stories and as many people contact me about one person than I have this season with Victoria Fuller. It’s been unreal, to be honest.”
Reality Steve has confirmed that multiple different sources have reached out to him about Victoria's indiscretions with married men. He reports the contestant has slept with "three or four" of her friend's husbands-- yikes! Victoria denied the rumors through an Instagram post featuring her dog, but fans believe the credible blogger.
8 Controversial: Merissa Pence
As the most controversial blurred faces to appear on the franchise, Merissa Pence, Peter's ex-girlfriend from years prior, surely stirred up some trouble. Merissa warned Peter about Victoria's past, namely the "three or four" marriages she's been accused of breaking up. During an interview with Us Weekly, Merissa disturbingly discloses some dirty details on Victoria: "Our first encounter was that she told me she was going to slash my tires because I was hanging out with one of her ex-boyfriends.”
Merissa continues: “She just thinks that the world revolves around her and she’s the hottest thing that’s ever hit this planet." Despite his ex-girlfriend's attempts, Peter ends up keeping Victoria over Kelsey, without even meeting her family, a first for The Bachelor!
7 Controversial: Gaslighting Peter During Hometowns
Coming off his revealing conversation with Merissa, Peter shows up to Victoria's family home, and sits her down on the porch to have a chat about what he's just heard. Peter neutrally explains what happened, and Victoria immediately loses her cool. After telling her he just wants to hear the truth, Victoria's completely dismissive as she pulls out the waterworks and victim card, and begins to gaslight Peter in the process. "You literally just came in here to act like that? Are you kidding me?" Victoria throws in his face.
She continues by accusing Peter of believing Merissa and not caring about meeting her family and takes off down the street. After she cowardly returns, Peter explains his concern about her pattern of walking away, and Victoria shocks him once more: "So then why are you so willing to stay?" Peter almost laughs he's so caught off guard.
6 Controversial: The Release Of Her Mugshot
Victoria was arrested for driving while under the influence on August 25, 2017, and held from 6:45 a.m. until 9:23 a.m. The Bachelor contestant pled guilty to the charges and was fined $250 with an extra $211 in court fees. Part of Victoria's punishment involved a restricted driver's license, as well as being placed under supervised probation for a year, which requires the abstinence of drugs and alcohol.
She was further placed on two years of unsupervised probation.
5 Controversial: The WLM Ordeal
Victoria found herself in some of the hottest water yet when some controversial modeling pictures of her surfaced. Victoria had done a campaign for a marlin conservation group, wearing patriotic colors and a blue hat with "WLM" across the front, representing "We Love Marlins." Fans assumed "WLM" stood for "White Lives Matter," and uncovered Confederate flag merchandise available through the group's website.

Originally, Victoria posted a defensive response but gave an apology after she was clued in about the company's incorporation of the confederate flag in its apparel, saying: “I definitely see how this could be offensive. I apologize immensely it was never my intention to lessen this matter." Regardless of winning the episode five photoshoot, Cosmo magazine pulled the cover she and Peter were going to be featured on after the exposure of the contestant's dubious past.
4 Controversial: The Chase Rice Ex-Boyfriend Debacle
The Bachelor loves to highlight cheesy country music stars-- subservient to their crooning while lead does the wooing. Following suit, season 24 features popular country artist Chase Rice, who just so happens to be Victoria Fuller's ex-boyfriend! As Victoria and Peter approach the stage, making their way through the crowd, her excitement drops, and things begin to get awkward!
Victoria tells the audience through voice-over that she and Chase Rice used to date, making this date incredibly uncomfortable for her. Still, Victoria dances and sings along to the song, waiting to tell Peter until the dinner portion of their date. The country star later downplayed his relationship with Victoria after being interviewed on The Morning Toast, upset he was included in the drama. Chase Rice was also the runner-up on season 21 of the CBS competition hit series Survivor.
3 Controversial: Fake Shy Persona/Gun Enthusiast
During the beginning of Peter's season, Victoria acted like this bashful, demure girl who seemed more innocent than devious. It's obvious this persona doesn't match up with her checkered past, which Merissa also commented on: "[During] the lingerie episode she just acted like she was this coy person. The people in Virginia Beach are even seeing that that’s not you at all. You’re always the one in the bar wanting attention.”
Victoria's also a gun enthusiast and likes to hit the gun range, as shown on her Instagram.
2 Hilarious: "Take It To Reddit Sis"
After fans continued to call Victoria out about her moody attitude towards Peter as shown on The Bachelor, Victoria clapped back and responded: "This isn't an open forum, this is my personal Instagram. Take it to reddit sis." The contestant's response sparked attention throughout the Reddit community r/TheBachelor, which turned into a laughing stock of hilarious memes.
Simple yet absurd, this Victoria quote gave fans lots of entertainment.
1 Hilarious: Opening Line
The Bachelor is known for featuring over-the-top, ridiculous limo entrances as the lead first meets their contenders. Victoria F.'s approach? She walks up to Peter and says: "I have a very dry sense of humor... but that's about the only thing that's dry right now."
The worst part came when she repeated the line during the first cocktail party, clearly indicating her joke didn't land with Peter-- and the secondhand embarrassment makes this memorable limo entrance one of Fictoria's most hilarious moments.
