PlayStation 5 Launch Titles So Far - What Games Will PS5 Have?

The PlayStation 5 will launch later this year, but Sony has revealed relatively little about its next-gen console. Yet third-party developers and other games industry announcements have already confirmed many PS5 games coming to the system, including heavy-hitters like Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Battlefield 6.

Several first-party Sony games are slated to release even before the PS5's launch. Final Fantasy 7 Remake arrived earlier this year and quickly became the fastest-selling PlayStation exclusive ever, and Sucker Punch's graphically impressive Ghost of Tsushima is set for a  July 17 release. Naughty Dog's The Last of Us: Part 2 is among the most anticipated games of 2020, as its June 19 release date will deliver a particularly brutal next chapter in the post-apocalyptic game series.

While it's possible Sony could end up porting all three of these titles to PS5, they have only been confirmed for release on PS4. Most confirmed PS5 games so far are from third-party studios, like Ubisoft and EA. Here's a list of everything coming to the PS5, compiled by IGN's PlayStation 5 Wiki and TechRadar.

The following list includes all games confirmed to be coming to the PS5, via IGN and TechRadar, organized by planned initial release window (including games that will first release before the PS5's launch).

Confirmed PS5 Games List

  • WRC 9: World Rally Championship (Bigben Interactive) - September 2020
  • DiRT 5 (Codemasters) - October 2020

Along with these confirmed titles, several other major games are rumored or expected to come to PS5. As mentioned above, 2020 PS4 games like The Last of Us: Part 2, Ghost of Tsushima, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake seem likely, as well as late-2019 games like Death Stranding. Developers are also likely working on new exclusives like God of War 2, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Horizon Zero Dawn 2, and a new Gran Turismo game, though most of these probably won't release until sometime after the PS5's launch.

As far as ports of current-gen third-party titles go, CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 seems like a sure bet. It's arguably more anticipated than any other game this year, and the publisher already confirmed Cyberpunk 2077 will come to Xbox Series X through backward compatibility, so it will probably be playable on PS5, too. Bethesda's Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6 won't release soon, so it's safe to say they'll come to PS5 rather than PS4. And finally, like Destiny 2, Warframe, and Rainbow Six Siege, PS5 owners will probably see ports of popular online games like Apex Legends, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Fortnite.
