Bravo's The Real Housewives franchise kicked off with The Real Housewives of Orange County before reaching seven other cities. Watching the incredible drama unfold between these wealthy celebrities was everything Bravo fans didn’t know they needed.
Housewives have come and gone over the years, but that hasn’t stopped viewers from concocting fan theories about the cast and their storylines. To see five fan theories that totally make sense (and five that are a little far-fetched), keep reading.
10 Makes Sense: Producers Ratted Out Teresa & Joe
In 2014, Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa and Joe Giudice were sentenced to jail for fraud. The entire situation was played out on the show as fans awaited their verdict. Teresa was sentenced to 15 months and Joe was sentenced to 41 months. But who caught on to the Giudices’ fraud to begin with?
One fan theorizes that RHONJ producers are the ones who dropped the hint to authorities. After all, they picked up and had footage of their lives since season 1...
9 Far-Fetched: Did Yolanda Lie About Lyme Disease?
Before Yolanda Hadid’s departure from RHOBH, viewers saw her struggle with Lyme disease. She was incredibly weak and was trying every kind of therapy and medication to feel like herself again.
Her sickness led her all around the world seeking different treatments. It made her marriage to David Foster fall apart, and she even wrote a book about her experience. But with all the proof of Yolanda’s illness, there are still fans who believe she was faking it. One fan in particular thought she made the illness up to get more money from her divorce to David.
8 Makes Sense: Lisa Rinna's Sudden Good Behavior
Actress and model Lisa Rinna has been a welcomed star on the RHOBH. As a mother of two girls, fans have seen Lisa wear many hats.
One fan noticed that Lisa’s aggressive attitude has relaxed almost overnight... but why? One Reddit fan said that Lisa mentioned at the reunion that her two model daughters have lost jobs based on her behavior on TV. Could this be when she told everyone that Yolanda Hadid was faking her illness? After all, the Rinna girls are big names in the fashion world these days. It would make sense that Lisa doesn't want them blacklisted.
7 Far-Fetched: Allison Dubois Was Right About Kyle & Mauricio
Kyle Richards and Mauricio seem to have a dreamy marriage on TV. They have four daughters together and are great partners in crime. However, most forums claim Mauricio cheats on Kyle when she’s away for work.
What’s even odder is that years ago at a botched dinner party at Camille Grammer’s house, a psychic named Allison Dubois told Kyle she would never be fulfilled in her marriage. Could Mauricio’s alleged wandering eye be what she was talking about?
6 Makes Sense: The Real Reason Why Heather Dubrow Left
Heather Dubrow left RHOC after season 11. Over her time on the series, fans got to see her fabulous lifestyle with plastic surgeon Dr. Terry Dubrow from Botched and their four kids.
After Heather announced she was leaving the show, rumors began swirling about her marriage. One fan believes Heather found out Terry cheated on her, and exited the show before their dirty laundry was aired on TV.
5 Far-Fetched: The Real Housewives Franchise Is Dying Out
The Real Housewives franchise has eight current cities (Salt Lake City coming soon) and had two other cities die out (Miami and DC). However, one fan thinks the franchise as a whole is dying out. They believe that executive producer Andy Cohen keeps naysayers and “bad guys” (Brandi and LeeAnne, for example) on as cast members because newcomers are scared off by the show. After all, the series brings up divorces and other dirty secrets. It may be hard to sign new women on.
4 Makes Sense: Melissa & Joe Made A Big Deal Out Of Nothing
There are countless storylines on The Real Housewives that appear to be coming out of nowhere. One fan in particular points out Joe and Melissa Gorga from RHONJ doing this with Melissa’s business venture, Envy. In reality, Joe was probably all for Melissa starting Envy but wanted to promote it longer on TV. Did they create drama for potential fame?
3 Far-Fetched: Did Phaedra Know About Apollo's Criminal Activity?
It was upsetting when RHOA star Phaedra Parks divorced her husband Apollo. As a respected attorney in Atlanta, being married to someone doing illegal activity could have ended her career. She left him when he went to jail.
One fan, however, thinks Phaedra knew all about Apollo’s underground activity and helped him in some ways before he got caught. But would someone rule-abiding as Phaedra break the law she so often follows?
2 Makes Sense: LeeAnne Planted Her Phone
In one episode of The Real Housewives of Dallas, LeeAnne "left" her phone at a bar in Copenhagen and it was Brandi who found it. The story then got twisted, of course, that Brandi stole Lee Anne's phone. But one fan thinks LeeAnne left her phone at the bar on purpose, knowing Brandi would find it, thus using it against Brandi to smear her name.
1 Far-Fetched: Is Max Ken's Biological Son?
Lisa and Ken from the RHOBH and Vanderpump Rules have two children together. Their son Max was adopted after she gave birth to their daughter, Pandora. Funny enough, Max really does look a lot like Ken.
The theory is that Max really is Ken’s son from an affair and Lisa adopted him as her own to sweep the drama under the rug. Seems a little far-fetched.
