Early in the game on season 22, Big Brother fans watched as Memphis, Dani, Cody, Christmas, Tyler, and Nicole F. committed to a six-member alliance. Fortunately for the group, their male members have held the power of the HOH since week one and coincidentally have been running the house. All has been well for the group until Big Brother vets – Janelle and Kaysar – entrusted Memphis with information that would not be kept a secret for long.
It was clear the game really got started on Big Brother during Memphis’ HOH week. His allegiance to two different sides of the house brought out theories that had been kept secret. Janelle hasn’t been a fan of Nicole F., and Nicole F. claims to have been aware of it. When Janelle and Kaysar approached Memphis and named four out of the six members in his alliance, one of which was Nicole F., his antennas went up. He shared the information with said alliance, and it only made the line drawn in the sand that much sharper.
On last Thursday’s episode, the move by the two veteran all-stars proved to be rather costly. The other members of Memphis’ alliance rallied to vote out Janelle and Kaysar. Viewers watched as Memphis made a decision best for his game, and the other members of the house did what they do best: become paranoid and create conspiracy theories. A spat ensued between Janelle and Nicole F. on Sunday night’s episode when the latter chose the former to endure a punishment for the week. This event, coupled with the fact that Janelle and Kaysar had knowledge of their alliance, proved to be costly as they were both nominated and “put on the block.”
Janelle and Kaysar’s two-person alliance dates back to season six and seven. Their relationship is tight and it’s evident the two want to play the game the old-fashioned way: everyone for themselves. With how things have played out this season, it might be difficult for them to do just that. Recently, Janelle has mentioned her frustrations with the way newer players have maneuvered through the show, which entails voting in favor of the current Head-of-Household.
Big Brother superfans struggle with loving the vets while adapting to the new style of play. What is evident is that with the way producers are cutting the season, Janelle and Kaysar have a good foundation that is setting one of them up to become America’s Favorite this season. Right now, it’s not clear if either of them will make it to the end of the game, but it should come as no surprise that fans want to see this pair of wise all-stars make it farther than this week.
