Marvel TV: 10 Most Hilarious Memes Of All Time | ScreenRant

While the MCU is getting ready to launch its shows on Disney Plus, Marvel TV has been keeping the small-screen busy since 2013. Starting with Agents of SHIELD, the TV division has produced multiple shows across platforms like ABC, Netflix, Hulu, and Freeform. But with the decision to start producing MCU Studios shows, Marvel TV is shutting down the same year as Agents of SHIELD wrapped its 7-year run.

Their success created larger fandoms within the already massive MCU world for each show that they got. With over 150 hours of content, Marvel TV accomplished a lot, to say the least. Given how dedicated fans can be to shows like the Marvel TV series, it allows inside jokes to come to life in the form of fanart and memes.

10 DC TV Vs Marvel TV

In the beginning of Agents of SHIELD’s run, it was stressed by producers and executives that while it would be a Marvel adventure every week, that’s not the same as a Marvel movie. The spy drama initially started out grounded as well as focusing on the humans aiding the superheroes to protect the world. Later seasons would eventually see the arrival of Inhumans, alien races, Ghost Rider, and more.

However, during Agents of SHIELD’s early run, it was a bit hilarious to see that over on DC TV, The CW had talking gorillas and sharks in pants running around.

9 The Friend Daredevil Needed

Once Daredevil premiered on Netflix, the comparisons between Matt Murdock and Arrow’s Oliver Queen were endless. Given that they were both heavy gritty crime dramas about vigilantes, it was inevitable. But while fans were debating about who was better, that’s probably not what Oliver and Matt would be up to.

It’s not impossible that Oliver and Matt would actually admire each other’s shows. Being pit against each other is something Green Arrow and Daredevil wouldn’t have time for anyway.

8 The Repetitive Iron Fist

Iron Fist was, without a doubt, the least popular Marvel/Netflix show out of all The Defenders. With a lackluster first season, Danny Rand had to really work hard to win the approval of fans around the world.

While Danny had his charm, his insistence on constantly reminding the viewers that he is the Immortal Iron Fist, protector of K’un-L’un didn’t exactly do him any favors. It would have been better if he had just worn a sign instead.

7 Daredevil Obsession

When Daredevil first arrived on Netflix, its success was unforgettable as it was an instant hit with fans and critics alike. It didn’t take long before the Marvel drama scored a season 2 because of its success.

However, the downside of it being a Netflix show is that once it’s been binged, there is the long wait that comes for the next season. This meme was pretty much how fans were behaving on social media around that time when they had finished Daredevil season 1.

6 The Ideal Marvel TV/DCEU Crossover

Even if it may never happen, a crossover between Marvel and DC has always been something on a lot of fans’ wish lists. If it does, it would have to be one heck of a deal that Disney and Warner Bros. would have to strike where both companies are satisfied.

However, one crossover that would be perfect between Marvel TV and the DCEU is The Punisher and Ben Affleck’s Batman. Given how much they have both lost, maybe happiness is something they could find together.

5 Bearded Vigilante Billionaires

While Arrow and Daredevil share similarities, it became hysterically funny when Iron Fist was using a lot of similar ques from the DC drama. That’s not to say that it was ripping off what Arrow was doing, but it still became very funny visually.

For whatever reason, it always seems like billionaires who fight crime as vigilantes always have to come back with a massive beard. Imagine if Oliver and Danny had been stuck together on an island for 5 years and had to decide who gets to have the beard.

4 Marvel TV’s Arrow Vibes

The Iron Fist/Arrow similarities don’t stop with them returning from the dead with massive beards. While the comics may have done their origins one way, the Arrowverse and MCU take on the respective heroes were more similar than anyone was probably expecting.

This meme perfectly captures that they essentially had almost the same origin story that turned them into superheroes. Oliver may not have the Fist and Danny may have no idea how to use a bow, but there is no denying that they are very similar.

3 Kevin Feige’s View On Marvel TV

Despite being set in the MCU, the majority of Marvel TV shows barely got referenced in any of the Avengers films or solo movies. The series acknowledged the events of the films regularly while the movies have barely touched the small screen's stories. Even though Kevin Feige commented on Marvel TV from time to time, it didn’t seem like the Hollywood producer was that interested in the shows.

Despite Feige probably not having bad feelings toward Marvel TV, this meme is understandably funny. He may not trash the TV division, but Feige certainly hasn’t praised it much, either.

2 The Sixth Defender

When The Defenders all got together, it became clear quickly that Matt, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones were very thrown off by Danny’s rambling. From talking about chi, K’un-L’un, and being the Immortal Iron Fist, it’s easy for anyone to raise an eyebrow. What’s more hilarious though is that initially, Danny isn’t exactly the most impressive individual you’d meet. It’s probably something that Oliver Queen would show his disapproval of very quickly.

1 The Forgotten Teams

During Marvel TV’s era, there were more teams coming to life on the small screen than the films. But despite their having been three additional Avengers films after 2012, this meme sums up the awkwardness of those teams never even being in the stories. Avengers: Age of Ultron, for example, could have easily used any of the Marvel TV teams.

Even though there was very likely no bad blood between characters, it’s easy to imagine the Avengers basically giving the teams the cold shoulder. Maybe one day the Marvel TV characters will get to join their fellow MCU colleagues.
