Fortnite Season 6 Patch Notes: Boob Fix, Pets, Map Changes, & New Gear

Epic Games has officially released Fortnite season 6, its highly popular battle royale game. Battle royale titles have skyrocketed in popularity over the past year (which has inspired other games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Battlefield V to include their own versions: Blackout and Firestorm, respectively) but none as much as Fortnite, which saw over 78 million players play the game in August alone. Part of that appeal has naturally been the game’s free-to-play model, but its paid Battle Pass offering in the forms of seasons have also played a huge part in bringing players in.

In fact, Fortnite’s popularity has been so widespread that Sony relented on its policy to not allow cross-platform gameplay with Xbox One and Nintendo Switch players in the form of a recently released beta. This most recent development has come just in time for the battle royale’s highly anticipated season 6, which includes a ton of new cosmetic items as well as map changes for Battle Pass buyers.

Officially unveiled by Epic Games, season 6 of Fortnite has now been released on all platforms. Included for Battle Pass owners is new character skins like Calamity and huge and small map changes alike, the biggest of which is altering its highly popular Loot Lake section of the map. Perhaps the biggest change to the game, however, is the new addition of pets and Shadow Stones, which allow a player to become invisible when consumed (as of this writing, Shadow Stones are currently disabled due to an undefined technical issue) for a short period of time. Check out the changes to Loot Lake below:

Of course, it wouldn’t be a new season of Fortnite without issues, but there’s one particular problem that Epic has called “unintended” and “embarrassing” and it comes in the form of new character Calamity’s breast physics during the Jubilation dance. Naturally, Epic has made fast work of this error and the error has been patched. Errors aside, season 6 of Fortnite has added tons of smaller changes to the game, which includes cosmetic changes in the form of pumpkins, spider-webs and other changes to celebrate the upcoming Halloween season.

While Fortnite season 6 is not as ambitious as the mirror universe theory that was making the rounds before its release, it still has plenty to offer to the many fans of the popular battle royale game. Once Shadow Stones have been perfected and re-added by Epic, it should easily add a new layer of gameplay, especially for those who prefer a stealthier approach. Either way, season 6 has continued Fortnite’s ambitious approach to altering its map and gameplay while offering players season-appropriate skins and other cosmetic items.
