Big Lebowski 20th Anniversary Photo Reunites Bridges, Goodman, & Buscemi

The cast from The Big Lebowski have reunited for a 20th anniversary photo. The film was directed by the Coen Brothers and was released in 1998. The most recognizable character to come from the film is the Dude, played by Jeff Bridges, while John Goodman, Julianne Moore, and Steve Buscemi also had prominent roles as well.

The Big Lebowski focuses on Bridges' character, Jeffrey Lebowski, who is assaulted and has his rug urinated on after two thugs confuse him with a millionaire of the same name. In order to get compensation for his rug, a rug that really tied the room together, the Dude agrees to help the millionaire by delivering a ransom to release Lebowski's kidnapped wife. To aide him in his journey, the Dude recruits his two bowling buddies, Walter Sobchak (Goodman) and Donny Kerabatsos (Buscemi).

Posting on his Twitter, Bridges posted a photo of himself sitting next to his The Big Lebowski co-stars, Buscemi and Goodman, after the stars appeared on an episode of the Today show. The man on the far right is NBC's Harry Smith, who interviewed Bridges, Goodman, and Buscemi for their 20th anniversary reunion. Bridges also mentions in his tweet that they are missing some of the cast members, such as Philip Seymour Hoffman and David Huddleston, who have since passed away. His full tweet can be seen below.

While a sequel to The Big Lebowski never came to be, actor John Turturro is working on a spinoff titled Going Places, which is centered on his character Jesus Quintana. The film will be based on the 1974 film of the same name. The last update fans heard about the film was a production still of Jesus at a bowling alley that Tuturro released in 2016. While it will be interesting to see more The Big Lebowski content, it's unlikely to do as well as the first film since the Coen Brothers are not attached to the film and key cast members are not returning.

Even though the film has been out for 20 years, The Big Lebowski still has a big impact on pop culture. The film has returned to theaters on more than one occasion and has even been the inspiration behind a bar in Arizona and a restaurant in Iowa. Extreme fans of the movie can even pick up the Where's the Money, Lebowski? card game that was released this year. Bridges may now be an Oscar-winning actor, but it will make fans of The Big Lebowski happy to know that he hasn't forgotten about the film even after 20 years.
