The filmmakers behind Ralph Breaks the Internet have revealed that they chose to cut a joke in the upcoming movie that portrayed Kylo Ren as a spoiled child. Ren is, of course, the Star Wars villain that first appeared in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Ralph, on the other hand, is the "villain" from Disney's Wreck-It Ralph, who desperately wants to be a hero.
When Disney released Wreck-It Ralph in 2012, they included many cameos in the film from other popular video games. Many widely known video game villains made appearances in the movie when Ralph attends a support group meeting called Bad-Anon. The meeting has villains from other video games come together to talk about their sometimes disappointing roles as the bad guys. During the scene, classic villains such as Bowser, M. Bison, Zangief, and Doctor Eggman make appearances, among many others. Wreck-It Ralph 2 promises to have even more Disney character cameos. While the trailer for Wreck-It Ralph 2 reveals some of these cameos, Kylo Ren was originally going to make an appearance as a spoiled child.

First reported by IGN, the filmmakers behind Ralph Breaks the Internet were going to include a cameo of Kylo Ren acting like a spoiled child, but was changed by the request of Lucasfilm. Co-director Rich Moore further explained, "We went to Lucasfilm and said, here’s what we’re doing. And they said, well, we’d prefer that you don’t show him as a spoiled child. You know, he is our villain, and we’d prefer you don’t do that. So we were respectful of that.” While Kylo Ren won't be portrayed as a spoiled child in the movie, it's possible they just changed the joke rather than cutting Kylo Ren altogether.
Along with Kylo Ren, other Star Wars Easter eggs can be spotted in the trailers, including X-Wings, the Millenium Falcon, Stormtroopers, and TIE Fighters. Besides Star Wars, fans can also spot other Disney characters in the trailers, such as Iron Man, Dumbo, Eeyore, and the Muppets. That being said, the most prevalent cameos fans will likely see are the Disney princesses who have gotten modern makeovers for the upcoming film.
Some people might think Kylo Ren is a better villain than Darth Vader, but others just saw him as a whiny kid who throws temper tantrums when he doesn't get what he wants. Kylo definitely evolved in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but including a cameo of him as a spoiled child could have been a hilarious gag that most moviegoers would have understood. That being said, it makes sense why Disney wouldn't want the directors of Ralph Breaks the Internet to make fun of their villain. After all, Disney has built Kylo Ren up to be the big baddie in Star Wars: Episode IX, so making fun of him in an animated feature may have not been a great idea for the corporation as a whole.
