Stephen Amell 'Ships' Arrow & Flash With New Arrowverse Crossover Photo

Stephen Amell ships Flash and Arrow with a new Arrowverse crossover photo. The CW's DC universe has grown incredibly in the past seven years since Arrow first debuted. They've launched four shows that exist within a shared universe, while Black Lightning is currently on its own and Batwoman could come next year. To cap off this continuity, the last few years have featured crossovers that bring all the shows together. This will remain true this year with an Elseworlds crossover that looks to switch up the status quo.

Thanks to the Elseworlds template allowing the Arrowverse to visit multiple Earths, one of the major twists this year's crossover will put the universe's biggest stars in new suits. While Stephen Amell has become known for his Green Arrow look and Grant Gustin has done the same as Flash, they're going to wear each other's DC costumes.

Amell and Gustin not in their regular costumes has been the focus of plenty of coverage from the Arrowverse crossover set. As the two original stars of what has become a giant universe, it's provided a nice change from what viewers have come to know and for the actors. Amell shared another photo from the crossover on Twitter, this time of the two leads back in their regular costumes, hugging - and Amell ships Oliver Queen and Barry Allen getting together.

This is more likely to be just a bit of fun on Amell's part, but could it actually be a tease of what could come in the crossover? Both Oliver and Barry are in loving, healthy relationships on Earth-1 (with Felicity and Iris, respectively), but this is for Elseworlds. If they're switching costumes and are also playing the Trigger Twins versions of their characters, it's at least possible that the crossover could actually include a trip to an Earth where Barry and Oliver are together, romantically. If it's something they ever wanted to just try, Elseworlds is the best chance.

The possible deeper relationship Oliver and Barry could have in Elseworlds is far from the only difference the Arrowverse crossover could entail. Its been confirmed that Tyler Hoechlin's Superman will be wearing the iconic black Superman suit. It was also just recently revealed that John Wesley Shipp will return as Flash. More set photos from the crossover revealed the first look at the event's villain Monitor, so fans finally got a chance to see who all of these heroes will be going up against. Whether or not Amell's "ship" turns into anything remains to be seen, but the Arrowverse will clearly undergo quite a few changes in the not to distant future.
