In Assassin's Creed Odyssey you can get extremely up close and personal with the Greek god Zeus, whose penis is officially climbable. Not only can it be climbed, but players are invited to do so in order to reach the synchronization point at the top of the statue, and are rewarded for climbing on Zeus' penis with a line of dialogue recorded for the occasion.
Penises have been in the news a lot recently, thanks to the launch of DC Comics' new imprint for mature audiences, DC Black Label. The new line of comics kicked off with Batman: Damned, which made waves by showing Bruce Wayne completely nude for the first time. Batman's goods were outlined in tasteful silhouette, but unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) the panels were censored in digital versions of the comic. Assassin's Creed Odyssey, by contrast, is fully embracing the male form.

The ability to scale Zeus' genitals was first revealed in a Reddit post that offered a particularly cinematic view of the player character dangling from the statue's mighty undercarriage. Since then a video of the climb has emerged, which demonstrates that when Alexios or Kassandra reach a particularly intimate point on Zeus' body, they say to themselves, "I should probably not climb on this." It's worth the climb however; once you reach the top of Zeus' lightning bolt (that's not a euphemism) and synchronize, you are rewarded with a sweeping cinematic view of the surrounding area.
Set in the Golden Age of Ancient Greece, Assassin's Creed Odyssey casts players in the role of a Spartan warrior descended from King Leonidas I himself. The latest entry in the franchise changes things up a bit, incorporating RPG elements like romance options, dialogue options, and multiple possible endings. The game will also bring back the naval combat that debuted in Assassin's Creed III, and the developers have even thrown in some sharks for good measure.
The Assassin's Creed games are built upon a love of history, with in-game glossaries offering facts about everything from the buildings you can climb to the people you can meet, but they also have a healthy dose of irreverence and humor. While it might be immature to giggle at the proudly nude statues of Ancient Greece, it's gratifying to think of all the hard work that went into making Zeus' penis a scalable part of the environment.
