New character posters for Aquaman highlight the past, current, and future rulers of Atlantis. Jason Momoa's underwater DC hero has already appeared twice in DCEU movies, but he's getting a solo film of his own at the end of the year. With just over a month until it is released, the marketing campaign continues to roll on.
Momoa has been front and center throughout the various images, posters, and trailers that Aquaman has released. This was to be expected, but the suit that he is wearing in most of them is what has caught many by surprise. Momoa's been shown repeatedly in the classic orange and green Aquaman suit. Anything from the last trailer to toys and statues have offered up new looks at the suit, despite it possibly not being featured too prominently in the actual movie. What will be shown plenty is the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. Those who have and will rule it take center stage in new character posters.

Warner Bros. released three new solo character posters for Aquaman. Momoa's Arthur Curry receives his own and once again is featured in the comic-accurate suit - but without the trident. Amber Heard's Mera stars in one of her own and is surrounded by Orm's army of sharks. The third poster is given to Nicole Kidman's Atlanna, the former Queen of Atlantis, who is shown holding the quindent Aquaman has used before near the Curry Lighthouse.
This trio of character posters keep the spotlight on Aquaman's two main characters, while choosing Atlanna as the third choice is a bit surprising. She is only going to be featured in the movie during the origin/flashback sequences and isn't expected to be central to the film's main plot. There are a few other characters who should be more important in the grand scale of Aquaman, but the marketing team may just be looking to capitalize on Kidman's incredible run of projects as of late. Other characters like King Orm (Patrick Wilson), Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Matteen II), King Nereus (Dolph Lundgren), and Vulko (Willem Dafoe) could be next in line for character posters if this marketing tactic continues.
As surprising as it may be, Aquaman is really just right around the corner. The wave of TV spots has begun and it won't be too long before the entire cast and director James Wan set out on the worldwide press tour now that the movie is complete. These interviews typically provide even more insight to the movie and then spoiler discussions and sequel teases after Aquaman is in theaters.
