Treason! Princess Charlotte May Embrace Disney Royalty for Halloween

Treason! Princess Charlotte may embrace Disney royalty for Halloween. The question is, with nearly 100 years of animated content, which Disney princess does she identify with the most?

Princess Charlotte of Cambridge is a member of the British royal family. She is the second child and only daughter of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. The four-year-old is fourth in the line of succession for the British throne. Little girls everywhere seem to identify with Disney's roster of feisty female nobility. However, it's a funny coincidence that an actual princess would opt to portray a Disney princess. True, Charlotte is also a huge fan of unicorns, according to her father, Prince William, but news of her admiration for Disney paints the young royal in an all-new light.

A source close to the Royal family told Us Weekly, "Kate lets George and Charlotte pick out their costumes. Charlotte in particular, loves dressing up so is super excited and has chosen a Disney outfit." The source went on to reveal that, "Kate's even got a cute little Halloween costume for Louis!" The only drawback to Halloween at Buckingham Palace is that the kids will be secluded from the communal fun of donning costumes with other neighborhood children. They continued, "In the past, the kids have dressed up and gone trick-or-treating within the grounds of Kensington Palace, knocking on their relatives and live-in staff members’ doors."

It's still uncertain which Disney princess young Charlotte chose to dress up as. The possibilities are endless. First, there's Belle from Beauty and the Beast. This spirited princess is known for being loyal, elegant, and compassionate -- much like Charlotte's late grandmother, Princess Diana. She could also choose Ariel from The Little Mermaid. Ariel is adventurous, curious, and loving. Cinderella is tenacious, stealth, and sentimental. Since its release in 2013, Frozen has proven a fan favorite. Princess Elsa with her flowy white-blonde locks empowers young girls to fight for family and to step into glory with the impassioned theme song "Let It Go." Princess Merida is another logical choice for Charlotte, given the royal family's connection to Scotland. Merida is sporty, fiery, and brave. Then there's Princess Jasmine from Aladdin. Jasmine is strong, beautiful, and audacious.

While it's still unclear whether Charlotte will assume the identity of a fictitious royal character, it's adorable to know that she has the same fascination with Disney as many other little girls. True, she's real royalty herself, but at the end of the day, she's still a child. The fact that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have taken great steps to allow Charlotte, George, and Louis to enjoy their childhood is commendable. Perhaps when in a year or two, Charlotte will understand that she already has the crown, so channeling it from Disney won't be necessary. It would be lovely if Disney's next princess could be a little Welsh girl named Charlotte, who lives in a giant castle with her two brothers.
