Star of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim Kardashian revealed that her 6-year-old daughter North was actually photoshopped into their family's Christmas card. Kim explained that it causes a lot of anxiety in order to all of the kids in one place, smiling, for a picture.
The Kardashian Christmas card is something Keeping Up with the Kardashians fans look forward to all year and unofficially kicks off the holiday season. This year, there was no such thing, as the Kardashian and Jenner siblings had conflicting schedules and weren't able to continue the tradition of the over-the-top Christmas card. This year, Kim decided to go rogue and went with a more simple idea, just organize a shoot with her, her husband Kanye West, and their four children: 6-year-old North, 4-year-old Saint, 2-year-old Chicago, and 7-month-old Psalm. This was a big deal for the family as this was Psalm's first appearance on a Christmas card as this will be his first Christmas.
After debuting their first-ever West family Christmas card on Instagram, Kim appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to speak about how this picture came to be. She revealed that to avoid a lot of the drama, she wanted to just do a Christmas card with just her husband and kids, however, it didn't prove to be any easier. She said to Ellen (via Us Weekly), "It’s the most anxiety to get four kids together smiling in a room." The 39-year-old mother of four said that she was having the most difficulty with her eldest daughter, North, trying to get her to cooperate for the photo, which was why she ended up being photoshopped in the photo after. Check out Kim's Christmas card in the Instagram post below:
Kim admitted, "North was having a day. She refused to be in the shoot. She was crying because she wanted her specific hairstyle, whatever, so I said, 'Fine, you’re not going to be in the card. That’s the decision.'" She revealed that her 6-year-old seemed "fine" with not being in the photo, but then when she woke up the next morning, she had changed her mind. Kim explained, "She was like, ‘Mommy, I really want to do a card." Kim said, "Thank God the photographer was still in town." Kim revealed to Ellen that she had to pose alongside North because she only wanted to do a photo with her, and then add North in post to the family photo. Ellen joked, "To teach her a lesson, I would have just left her out... That’s what I would have done. That’s why I don’t have kids."
With a little coaxing, hiring a photographer for two days, and some photoshop - the West family were able to get their perfect holiday picture. Even though it was an anxiety-filled few days, the Keeping Up with the Kardashian fans were so happy to see that Kim was able to pull through and get all four kids smiling on one Christmas card.
