Valiant, know for its various comic properties such as Bloodshot and Shadowman, will soon have video games featuring its various properties released across all available platforms which have been developed by Blowfish Games. While not as well know as major players like DC Comics and Marvel, Valiant has been making a major play at consumers with well-written comics and film tie-ins for its various properties.
The latest film will be based on the company's Bloodshot character and stars Vin Diesel as the titual hero of the same name. While initial reactions to the Bloodshot trailer weren't all that glowing as a result of divisive visual effects, there's no denying that it's something very different (read: much more violent) than some of the other superhero films out there. So, of course, Valiant also wants to break into other mediums while it's busting into film.
Case in point, Valiant Comics has just announced a new partnership with Blowfish Studios to create a series of games based on Valiant's biggest characters. The deal will see these titles, which are still unammed as of this writing, states that they will release across a number of platforms. Details on which heroes are being featured are still unknown, but Bloodshot and the various other upcoming film and television projects would be a good place to start.
The founder and CEO of Valaint parent company DMG Entertainment, Dan Mintz, was understandably excited by the announcement. Given that it's a multi-game deal, this also allows for fans to become better acquainted with the Valiant Comics Universe and the various characters that inhabit it.
"We're thrilled to bring Valiant's characters back into the video game industry and give fans the opportunity to play as their favorite superheroes. Translating these characters and stories to video games could not come at a more exciting time as we introduce the world to the Valiant Universe on the big screen with the Bloodshot release. These games are poised to become further proof of these characters' immense potential as anchors in pop culture."
Other projects in the works from Valiant include a new series based on Quantum & Woody, as well as a Harbinger movie being made by Paramount. All in all, things are really starting to pick up for Valiant and Blowfish is a strong studio to help make initial titles. Although it's unknown how large-scale these will end up being given that Blowfish is a smaller company, these are promising times for fans of Valiant Comics.
Blowfish Studio's first Valiant Comics are currently without a release date, but details will be arriving at a later date. Stay tuned to Screen Rant for more updates.
