Chuck Bass takes pride in his "bad boy" status, but we, on the other hand, find his behavior to be rather pathetic. Sure, his shameless actions might be plausible for the villainous character on a soap opera, but the fact of the matter is, his character is way too romanticized to be seen as the true antagonist of the series. Here, we will prove to Gossip Girl lovers just how terrible Chuck Bass really is. So without further ado, here are the 10 most shameless things that the inglorious Bass-tard has ever done on the show.
10 LUSTING AFTER HIS BEST FRIEND'S GIRLFRIEND
It's honestly bewildering to us how far Chuck is willing to go when it comes to lusting after his best friend's girlfriend. Nate and Chuck have been pretty much inseparable since birth, yet this doesn't stop the guy from trying to get some action from Blair Waldorf. The worst part is, Blair and Nate had been an on-and-off couple since kindergarten. Does this kid have any moral compass whatsoever? We think not. Chuck never appears guilty for his actions because he is incredibly entitled and he believes the world belongs to him.
9 ATTEMPTING TO RAPE JENNY
This is the worst, most incomprehensible thing Chuck could possibly do, and he does it in the very first episode! He shamelessly attacks Jenny, and it takes several people pulling him off for him to stop.
If Dan and Serena weren't there to stop Chuck, who knows how far this would go. The worst part is, everyone is quick to forgive Chuck because that's just the kind of person he is. The Gossip Girl gang continues to include Chuck into their circle, despite all of the horrible things he has done. We are still scratching our heads as to why this scene was so overlooked.
8 ASSAULTING SERENA
Can this kid learn to control himself? Seriously, how awful can a human get? Despite the fact that Chuck and Serena are step-siblings at the beginning of the series, he has no boundaries or morals, as proven when he tries to assault his own step-sister. He clearly isn't a safe person to be around, and it makes no sense to us that the writers would even attempt to redeem this creep. This behavior isn't normal, and the fact that the show glamorizes his actions is just unforgivable.
7 GETTING TRASHED AT BARS EVEN THOUGH HE IS UNDERAGE
Oh, Gossip Girl. This show sometimes makes us crack up, and for all the wrong reasons. For instance, we can't help but laugh every time we see these teenagers casually sipping cosmos and scotch in bars with no sign of suspicion whatsoever from the bartenders. These sixteen-year-olds go in and out of bars nightly, drinking like fish because apparently that's a thing for children to do these days? Chuck not only spends all his time at bars — he also loves to hang around at strip clubs. You know, because that's totally legal behavior for a minor.
6 SELLING BLAIR TO HIS UNCLE
Isn't Chuck Bass a stand-up guy? He's an every day Mr. Rogers! A total role-model for kids. Like when he pimps out his girlfriend, the person who is supposed to be the love of his life, to his Uncle Jack. If anyone at this point thought it was possible for Chuck to change and improve into becoming a better person, they were only fooling themselves.
Chuck never changed because all he cared about was power and materialism. That's why he was willing to sell his girlfriend to his uncle for ownership over a hotel. This episode came out ages ago, yet somehow we still feel sick over it.
5 DUMPING BLAIR BECAUSE SHE IS NO LONGER "PURE"
How sexist can a human being get? Chuck finds himself no longer attracted to Blair because he believes she isn't virginal and innocent anymore. In his eyes, she was only desirable when she was "pure." Yet after sleeping with Chuck, he has the audacity to compare her to his father's Arabian horse. Like the horse, he says, she is "rode hard and put away wet." Excuse me, but... what? In what world is it okay to say this to anyone, especially the person who is supposed to be your soulmate? Blair was no saint, but she definitely deserved better than this.
4 HE BECAME "HENRY PRICE" IN ORDER TO AVOID HIS RESPONSIBILITIES
When most of us make mistakes in our lives that we eventually regret, we make amends by apologizing to those we have hurt and then move on with our lives. Chuck Bass, on the other hand, doesn't know how to apologize for all of the damage that he has done, so instead of healing old wounds, he changes his name and his entire identity. Sounds like the perfectly reasonable thing to do — not. This guy needs to learn how to take responsibility for his actions and all of his wrong-doings rather than going out of his way to avoid them.
3 HE PUBLICLY HUMILIATED BLAIR TO GOSSIP GIRL
Poor Blair was dealing with a pregnancy scare, and she wasn't sure whether or not the child belonged to Chuck or Nate. Because Chuck was jealous over the fact that Blair had slept with Nate, the boy she had been in love with since childhood, he exposed her sex life to Gossip Girl and slut-shamed her for sleeping with more than one guy. The moral of the story is, when Chuck Bass is a part of your life, there is just no winning.
2 USING WOMEN TO EXUDE POWER
It is no surprise that Chuck Bass sees women as objects that are to be used for personal gain. Often, he has some girl on his arm whether it be a stripper from the club or a model from the Upper East Side. He doesn't try to get to know any of these women; he just uses them so he can look good to the public and make Blair jealous.
When he gets cold feet about Blair or becomes insecure in regards to her feelings towards him, he eases his pain by going for another woman. He even cheats on Blair with Jenny, and ends up blaming Blair for the whole betrayal. It's getting harder and harder to tolerate this kid, isn't it?
1 HE IS VIOLENT IN HIS RELATIONSHIPS
One of the biggest controversies on the show was when he got physically violent with Blair when she refused to "belong" to him, as he put it. This possessive behavior is far from romantic, but rather a sign of abuse. When Blair tells Chuck she doesn't want to be with him anymore, he shoves her against the wall and punches the glass behind her, causing it to shatter over her, cutting her face. He treats her like Blair is his property rather than his lover, and this is in no way "couple goals" — it is abuse.
