With demand for the "Snyder Cut" of Justice League continuing to grow, Zack Snyder has released a new image of Alfred Pennyworth from his cut of the movie. The version of Justice League released into theaters was a major divergence from what Snyder had intended, having undergone massive reshoots following his departure in the wake of a family tragedy. Now just over two years out from the release of the theatrical cut of the film, interest in Snyder's original version of the superhero ensemble is far from dissipating.
The ongoing grassroots push for the Snyder Cut's release is something rarely, if ever, seen in the history of superhero cinema. What's more, the cast and crew have steadily thrown their own support behind, with Jason Momoa even confirming that he has seen it. Additionally, the movie's two-year anniversary saw the topic reach a whole new level of mainstream attention when Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck took to Twitter to officially support its release.
Snyder's latest post shows Bruce Wayne's loyal butler Alfred Pennyworth, captioned with the words "Alfred working at the abandon Wayne aerospace hanger had to move workshop from Batcave as he and Bruce try and get Flying fox to work no room in the cave for such a big aircraft." The theatrical version of the movie essentially merged the Wayne Aerospace hanger with the Batcave, so Snyder's post makes clear that both locations serve their own specific roles in his cut of Justice League. Furthermore, Snyder's caption also points to there being more build-up towards the use of the Flying Fox aircraft in comparison to the theatrical version.
One other noticeable characteristic of Snyder's newest image is the fact that it is in color. While Snyder's teases of his original cut of the movie have included an assortment of posts, ranging from storyboards to still images from the movie itself, the majority of the latter have been released in black and white. It is open to speculation as to why this post (which comes on the heels of another released today featuring Ryan Choi) is in color, but it is nevertheless a notable distinction from the majority of Snyder's other social media teases.
To say that the Snyder Cut has entered mainstream awareness would be an understatement. Aside from the cast and crew of Justice League, many other well-known names in the entertainment industry have also joined the calls for its release, including some connection to various Marvel properties. Furthermore the holiday season would also see Subway get in on the action, pledging a 15,000 sandwich donation to Feeding America while tweeting in supporting of the Snyder Cut's release, and even joking about adding a "Snyder Cut Special" to their menu. With this amount attention for the Snyder Cut (or "Zack Snyder's Justice League", as a newly released T-shirt brands the movie) it will be interesting to see if the director's unseen version of Justice League is finally made available to the public.
