Former American Horror Story Cast Members: Where Are They Now?

The American Horror Story anthology series's first season, called Murder House, came out in 2011. Ever since that first season, the audience has been thrown down a scary rabbit hole for nine seasons. They have been sent to an asylum, a freak show, roanoke, and 1884, just to name a few.

With American Horror Story's seasons being in a different setting every time, that also means the cast undergoes a lot of changes. Some actors have been back for almost every season, while some have only been around for one. This list will go over a bunch of actors and actresses who have been on the seasons multiple times to see where they are now.

10 John Lynch Carroll

The first person on this list is John Carroll Lynch. He was first introduced as Twist The Clown in the season Freak Show. He then went on to play John Wayne Gacy, the serial killer, and also return as creep clown in the seventh season, known as Cult.

John Carroll Lynch has a few projects in the works for the upcoming 2020 year. He will be playing John Dillinger in The Trial of the Chicago 7. He will also be playing a role in The Big Sky set to come out later this year. He has also completed a movie called Kiss Me Before It Blows Up that does not have a release date yet.

9 Connie Britton

Connie Britton is one of the first faces the audience saw in the first season. She plays a woman who is both a mother and a wife named Vivien Harmon, who moves to a new home and ultimately dies in the murder house. Connie came back to play Vivien again in the Apocalypse season. Connie Britton will also be playing Dean Walker in a movie titled Promising Young Woman coming out April 17, 2020, and Lola Bell in Good Joe Bell, which is set to come out later in 2020.

8 Dylan McDermott

Dylan McDermott played Dr. Ben Harmon, the cheating husband in the first season of American Horror Story. Since then, he has played Johnny Morgon in Asylum, Dr. Ben Harmon again in Apocalypse, and Bruce in 1984. Since his time on the anthology series, he is coming back to the screen to play Ernie in Hollywood, a Netflix original series that was created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan.

7 Denis O'Hare

Denis O'Hare also began his American Horror Story career in the Murder House season, where he played Larry Harvey. He went on to play characters in Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, and Roanoke. Denis O'Hare has a lot coming up in 2020 with him being in a French Drama movie called Delete History that came out in February. He is also going to be in a movie called The Postcard Killings which is coming out March 13, 2020, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the lead.

6 Emma Roberts

Emma Roberts made her American Horror Story debut in the Coven season, where she played the Hollywood star and witch named Madison Montgomery. She then, she has gone on to play multiple other characters in four other seasons of the show.

Since her last appearance in the 1984 season, Emma Roberts has been working on multiple different projects, but the biggest one may be "the most talked about movie of the year is one that no one's has actually seen," The Hunt. While it was supposed to come in late 2019, it has now been rescheduled to March 13, 2020.

5 Zachary Quinto

The next person on this list is Zachary Quinto, who played Chad Warwick in Murder House and Dr. Oliver Thredson in the second season known as Asylum.

Zachary Quinto has been, and is still playing, the iconic character of Spock in Star Trek, which is set to begin production on a new movie soon, but has yet to be 100% confirmed. Zachary will also be in The Boys in the Band, which is in post-production right now. This will be coming to Netflix sometime this year.

4 Frances Conroy

Francis Conroy has more than 90 acting credits over her acting career. Her first season on American Horror Story was the Murder House, and after that season, she went on to appear in six other seasons of the show.

Since the Apocalypse season, she has been in the psychological thriller Joker, playing Arthur Fleck's mother. In 2o21, Francis Conroy will be in the movie Power of the Dog, which will be directed by Jane Campion and has Kristen Dunst and Benedict Cumberbatch as her co-stars.

3 Angela Bassett

Angela Bassett's first character in the American Horror Story series was in Coven, in which she played Marie Laveau. She also went on to play in the fourth season, known as Freak Show, Hotel, and most recently, the 2018 season, Apocalypse.

In 2019, she was in the TV show Black Lady Sketch Show and is the Narrator for the Disney+ series The Imagineer Story. She is going to be in a movie called Gunpowder Milkshake, where she will be playing Anna May. The film is in post-production right now and does not have a release date.

2 Taissa Farmiga

Taissa Farmiga made her TV debut in American Horror Story's Murder House, playing Violet Harmon. After that season, she went on to play a witch named Zoe Benson in Coven. While Taissa did come back to these characters Apokolips season, she is not coming back for 2020's season 10.

Taissa is also a voice actor primarily known for playing the dark and mysterious Raven from the DCAMU's incarnation of Teen Titans and Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, which comes out 2020. She will also be starring in two TV shows coming out later this year called The Gilded Age, as Gladys Russell, and 50 States of Fright, as Hannah.

1 Jessica Lange

The last person on this list is the queen of anthology, Jessica Lange. Jessica Lange has played a lot of different people in the multiple seasons of American Horror Story. Her most popular characters in the show have been Constance Langdon in the Murder House and Fiona Goode in Coven.

Jessica Lange will not be in the upcoming season 10 of American Horror Story, but she currently is in the Netflix original series The Politician, playing Dusty Jackson. Coming up in 2020, she will be in a movie directed by Ryan Murphy, in which she will be portraying Marlene Dietrich in the 60s.
