Based on the comedy of Ray Romano, the television show Everybody Loves Raymond ran for almost a decade. The lovable characters and hilarious scenarios have fans still invested in the show today even though it ended 15 years ago.
Perhaps one of the reasons the show is so successful is because although the situations are exaggerated, the challenges the Barone family faced are challenges to which all can relate. Like any funny and relatable show, Everybody Loves Raymond has resulted in several hysterical memes. Here are the ten funniest memes of the show!
10 Familial Love
Though the characters of Marie, Frank, and Robbie are beloved by fans, it is clear that having these family members in real life would be extremely frustrating. They definitely care for Ray but are intrusive and regularly burst into his own to give unsolicited advice. Though the viewer knows that Ray and Debra should keep their mouths shut they are often pushed to their limit causing them to explore.
While this always leads to hilarious situations, fans also enjoy watching these characters say some of the things fans wish they could say to their family, strongly identifying with the main characters frustrations.
9 Tolerant Frank
Frank feels very familiar to many people. Almost everyone has met a Frank at some point in their life. He is blunt, direct, and hardened. His stubborn personality leads to many amusing situations. Though Frank often seems miserable, behind his overly masculine exterior he has a heart of gold. Still, many can identify with Frank's annoyance with the human race, making this meme hilarious.
8 Being Nice
These meme almost feels like the happy bunny stickers that were popular in the early 2000s, except with Frank instead of a smiling bunny. Frank always has the best comebacks, and by making them into memes we can use these comebacks to our own advantage. Telling someone to "be nice" or "calm down" never helps a situation. So the next time someone tells you to be nice, send this Frank meme their way!
7 Friendship
This meme is particularly relatable for introverts, gamers, or those who value their space. While friendships are certainly valued by all, society seems to always encourage individuals to spend all of their free time going out with friends.
If someone spends time alone at home often, others become worried and try to push them to go outside and meet up with friends. What they don't understand is that people can get fulfillment and enjoyment from the "friends" on their screen, including the characters in Everybody Loves Raymond.
6 Something To Look Forward To
Robert is a lovable yet tragic character. His low energy and gloomy attitude is similar to that of Eeyore. He feels constant pressure to please his parents as he considers himself somewhat of a failure.
He is frustrated by the idea that Ray is their favorite child even though Ray is more explosive and rude to them. Robbie tries his best to be "the good child" and when he expresses his frustration it always comes as a shock. This meme is hilarious because of Robbie's facial expression, flat delivery, and the idea that he has something to look forward to and has stood up to Frank.
5 One Time
Marie is the most intrusive character in the show. She fits the stereotype of overbearing mother to a tee. Still, she is completely out of touch and unaware of his fact. Many times her meddling comes in the form of giving unsolicited advice, changing something in the home without permission, and just barging into their homes unannounced.
On some occasions, her interference is extreme and when she asks Ray to explain how she is intrusive, he names one of the most outlandish and grandeur situations. But even the example of driving a car through a wall doesn't aid Marie's self-awareness as she reminds him that the circumstance he is mentioning only happened once.
4 That's What I'm Saying!
Debra and Raymond often struggle to communicate. Raymond is a writer and has a way with words. They often end up in heated exchanges in which they each scream their perspective at each other. Unfortunately for Debra, she often accidentally ends up adding to Raymond's argument. Such is the case in this meme, as her response validate's what Raymond is saying.
This meme is hilarious for every pessimist. Most pessimists know and accept that they are pessimistic, but other people try to tell them that they just have a negative outlook and need to change it. What they don't realize is that they are just using the definition of pessimism in their attempt to prove that one isn't a pessimism, making this Everybody Loves Raymond meme highly relatable.
3 Brand New Diet
Everyone knows what it's like to feel hardship and suffering. The characters in Everybody Loves Raymond provide an outlet for fans to find a way to laugh at their own pain and struggles and to recognize that it could be worse. Still, lines like Robbie's line of human suffering resonate with fans and they can't help but laugh and agree.
2 Exercise
As adults, we know we should exercise and take care of our body. Some people are good at this and others, not so much. The characters in Everybody Loves Raymond are the latter and this gives many average humans representation of themselves on screen. When Ray walks in, he seems surprised to film Robbie doing what he perceives as exercise.
The truth is much funnier. Robert is not exercising, he is just too lazy to stand up and is twisting his body into an odd position in an attempt to pick up what he has dropped on the floor with the least amount of movement as possible.
1 Where's My Food?
Frank's treatment of Marie would not be ideal in the real world but on screen it's hilarious. Marie is always wondering off, leaving Frank alone and wondering what happened. As Frank is incredibly lazy, he can not be bothered to make his own food and relies on Marie for all of his meals. When not fed, he becomes irritable and wonders off to find Marie in search of food.
While many wouldn't expect their spouse to prepare all of their meals for them, many people would be disappointed if they were awaiting a meal only to discover their significant other has seemingly disappeared.
