The smoking new Netflix reality series Too Hot To Handle features eye sizzling contestants competing against their own wills to abstain from sex. One of these personalities is bombshell Francesca Farago who is an Instagram model with over 750,000 followers. On the show Francesca receives a lot of attention from the male contestants. She musters romantic flings with Harry, Kels, and Kori in the short 25 days of filming the show. As the self-proclaimed best-looking person she naturally fits the role of the series villain.
Whether it be the fact that she had the most sexual infractions on the show. Or that in one of those interactions, she did it intentionally to punish the group. Or maybe it's the fact that she chose to go on a date with bad boy Kori Sampson; despite being in a romance with Harry Jowsey and Kori being the love interest of Chloe Veitch. She certainly was a polarizing figure.
When Francesca first arrived on the scene she recorded her introductory video in which the audience learns she is a 26-year-old from British Columbia. Her video features insightful quotes such as
“I think my personality is my best asset, but the eyes go to the boobs. But, like, my face isn’t too bad, I don’t think. So.”
But most importantly in her video viewers learn that Francesca has made a career out of being an Instagram model. In fact, her Instagram is so popular after watching the show fans were able to scour her social media to see what plastic surgery she's had done. But that's not all. Many people question how exactly Francesca can make a living off of Instagram? The following article aims to address those questions.
Statistics from Instagram Masterclass website Elise Darma reveal exactly how much money Instagram models like Francesca can make:
"How much Instagram influencers make all depends on two important factors:
- The size of the following
- The engagement rate
It’s no secret that the larger your following, the higher your rates, but what exactly are top tier influencers charging? According to the Financial Times, if you have an audience of 100,000 followers, you can charge brands $2,700 USD per post. Influencers with four to 20 million followers typically make a cool $6,000 to $17,500 USD every time they upload a sponsored post."
Seeing that Francesca has 750,000 followers we can assume she charges somewhere in between $2700-$17,500 per post.
Francesca didn't get to those numbers with good looks alone. Instagram marketing is a systematic process that if mastered yields great rewards. She doesn't just take provocative photos. Francesca is consistently engaging her base. She identifies what her followers resonate with and she executes on those desires. Much like a company, Francesca has to build her brand. If Coca-Cola doesn't put out a red logo on soda bottles, customers are engaged less and they lose money. It's the same concept. A very good source to learn how to engage users is life guru Gary Vaynerchuk. He espouses the belief that marketers on social media should not only engage their own base but also actively seek out other marketers. At the end of the day, marketing is all about growth and that means getting the message out there by any means possible.
Additionally, models like Francesca have to toe the line of keeping their users engaged but also have to identify what is brand appropriate for future business connections. Brand relationships are the Instagram model's Holy Grail. A successful model will keep a mind for content that not only applies to their own market but also their partner's markets. For example, if a model is partnered with a cosmetics brand, posts that focus more on a model's appearance especially facial would be applicable. Moreover, posts that relate to ancillary markets such as fashion can correlate to cosmetics and are also applicable.
In essence there are really three steps a model must take to make a living.
First, they have to absolutely grind to build their base. This can be done through regular output of quality content as well as marketing and building relationships with other people in their market.
Second, a model has to find a way to monetize their income. This can be accomplished by either distributing their own goods/services or by finding business partners to freelance for. Many marketing sections of major corporations welcome offers by recognized influencers to promote their products. So it is simply a matter of reaching out to applicable brands and building relations.
Third, an influencer has to maintain their followers and business relationships. If a model becomes lazy and already has a lot of followers, it may not matter to businesses. Active users that interact with each post is key and therefore maintaining relevance is crucial. Keep in mind, if a model is partnered with a business it could also be unprofessional to appear inactive.
Fans have to respect Francesca for building her brand. Not only, does she market herself on Instagram, but she was smart enough to land a role on a Netflix reality series. Since then, her brand has skyrocketed. It's worth mentioning that the show's cash prize was $100,000 and Francesca seemed to act with little regard for the money. Basically, hate her or love her, fans should be more focused on copying her because she's rich.
