Teen drama television series are full of thrills, friendships, relatable struggles, and love interests, and some of the best episodes are the ones that feature weddings. Over the years, nearly every TV show within this genre has shown off at least one magical day, full of vows and cake and romance.
Down below, everyone can look back at some of the most memorable wedding ceremonies that were shared by beloved characters. And then, it can all be taken a step further, as those fictional events will be compared to the real-life weddings that took place in these famous stars’ lives!
10 Pretty Little Liars
There were a couple of weddings on Pretty Little Liars, as well as some scenes involving the main characters in white gowns. Fans will surely remember when Aria remarried her parents, Ella and Byron Montgomery, and some may know that in reality, actress Holly Marie Combs wed Mike Ryan last year! Furthermore, in 2016, Troian Bellisario and Patrick J. Adams tied the knot. And while her character, Spencer, may have not gotten married within this story, she did get to dress the part for a bridal charity show.
9 The Vampire Diaries
Ian Somerhalder was Damon Salvatore in The Vampire Diaries, and this actor has been husband to Nikki Reed since 2015. His character is pictured here with the star of the show, Elena Gilbert.
Paul Wesley was Stefan Salvatore, and he was actually married to Torrey DeVitto, who played Melissa Hastings on PLL, from 2011 to 2013. On the show, though, he married Caroline Forbes, who was played by Candice King, who is really married to Joe King!
8 The Fosters
A big wedding that took place on The Fosters happened between Stef and Lena. Teri Polo, who portrayed Stef Foster, was married to Anthony Moore, was with Jamie Wollam and has two children. Sherri Saum, who portrayed Lena Adams, has been married to Kamar de los Reyes since 2007. She is pictured here with her husband, and she also has two children.
7 Gossip Girl
At the end of Gossip Girl, Serena van der Woodsen ended up with Dan Humphrey and Blair Waldorf ended up with Chuck Bass. In real life, these actresses are both married, as well, though their ceremonies were kept private; Blake Lively has been with Ryan Reynolds since 2012, and Leighton Meester, with Adam Brody since 2014. Brody was also on a teen drama, since he played Seth Cohen on The O.C.!
6 Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina
Next up is a star from Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina: Miranda Otto, who plays Zelda Spellman. Pictured is a photo of her and Father Blackwood getting ready to tie the knot in unholy matrimony, as well as a real photo; the real one, which features her smiling and with flowers in her hair, shows her wedding day with Peter O'Brien in 2003.
5 Beverly Hills, 90210
There were a few weddings on Beverly Hills, 90210, such as between Dylan (Luke Perry) and Toni (Rebecca Gayheart), Donna (Tori Spelling) and David (Brian Austin Green) and Kelly (Jennie Garth) and Brandon (Jason Priestley).
And there have been a few weddings when it comes to the cast, as well. In reality, Gayheart tied the knot with actor Eric Dane in 2004, Spelling tied the knot with actor Dean McDermott in 2006, and Green tied the knot with actress Megan Fox in 2010.
4 The O.C.
When it came to The O.C., a wedded couple was Seth Cohen and Summer Roberts. These characters were portrayed by Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson, respectively. Bilson was married to actor Hayden Christensen from 2007 to 2017, and as mentioned, Brody is married to Leighton Meester, who played Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl. There may not be photos of these weddings, but news recently broke that Brody and Meester are expecting their second child together!
3 Dawson’s Creek
Pacey Witter was a character on Dawson's Creek played by Joshua Jackson, who tied the knot with Jodie Turner-Smith last year. His fictional wife was Joey Potter, who was played by Katie Holmes, an actress that was married to Tom Cruise from 2006 to 2012.
Some more fun facts are that Jackson and Holmes used to date and that Jackson and his wife are expecting their first child together.
2 Glee
One of the most notable episodes of Glee featured a double wedding! Brittany Pierce and Santana Lopez and Blaine Anderson and Kurt Hummel all made their relationships official.
In reality, Heather Morris wed Taylor Hubbell in 2015, and Darren Criss, Mia Swier last year. Both of these couples were shown here.
1 One Tree Hill
Last but not least, there were the on-screen and real-life romances of One Tree Hill, where were mixed and matched and quite interesting. Brooke Davis was played by Sophia Bush, who was married to Chad Michael Murray from 2005 to 2006. On the show, she married Julian Baker.
Chad Michael Murray’s character, Lucas Scott, married Peyton Sawyer. In real life, he was with Bush before tying the knot with Sarah Roemer in 2015.
