JJ Abrams’ Lost is one of the strangest shows of all time. It started off as a relatively innocuous "survive on an island" show, before getting more and more intense as the conspiracy ramped up. Then there was time travel and an alternate reality and the show got a little too big for its boots, fizzling out without really resolving or explaining anything.
What it did have throughout was an incredible cast. Many of the stars of the show have gone on to land (or have taken on beforehand) some impressive roles outside of the Island.
12 Matthew Fox - Haunted (7.4)
Matthew Fox played the easy to hate starring role of Jack Shepard in Lost. He was moody, arrogant and unrelatable, but he took us through six seasons of bizarre goings-on.
Fox’s most-loved role outside of Lost actually took place before the show, with his starring place in Haunted winning a 7.4.
11 Evangeline Lilly - Avengers: Endgame (8.4)
Kate, the character who could be considered the second most important starring role in Lost has the undoubted advantage in lists like these, thanks to her presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She plays Hope Van Dyne, better known as the Wasp, and her presence in Avengers: Endgame sees her land an 8.4 score.
10 Dominic Monaghan - The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (8.9)
Known for playing the incredibly loveable (even though he was addicted to heroin) Charlie Pace in Lost, Dominic Monaghan has had an impressive career outside of the show. While he landed a role in the ninth Star Wars film, he is probably most well known for portraying Merry in The Lord Of The Rings franchise, with Return Of The King averaging an impressive 8.9.
9 Terry O’Quinn - The West Wing (8.8)
The face of John Locke, played by Terry O'Quinn, is probably most well known to many for taking on the incredibly well-received title role in the 80s' films The Stepfather I and II.
However, his appearance as general Nicholas Alexander in seven episodes of The West Wing between 2003-2004 is what gains him an impressive 8.8.
8 Henry Ian Cusick - The 100 (7.7)
In Lost, Henry Ian Cusick doesn’t have to cover up his Scottish accent at all. However, in The 100 (the show he has the most prominent role outside of Lost, and the highest rated at a 7.7 average) requires him to don a fake American accent, which he often lets slip. He’s still brilliant in it, though.
7 Michael Emerson - Person Of Interest (8.4)
He was the face of Zep in the first Saw film before he ultimately landed one of the most important roles in Lost (and we’re still annoyed that he killed John Locke). However, it is Michael Emerson's starring role in the incredible exciting crime drama Person Of Interest, which tops his list at 8.4.
6 Naveen Andrews - Sense8 (8.3)
Sayid began life in Lost as one of the most exciting and deep characters the show had to offer. He wasn’t really done justice by the end, when he just sort of went a bit mental and stopped speaking and then fizzled out.
Either way, Naveen Andrews was one of the best actors in the show and his role in the 8.3 average series Sense8 proves his worth further.
5 Emilie De Ravin - Brick (7.3)
In a way not dissimilar to what happened to Sayid, Claire began Lost as a character with an interesting story to tell. When they ran out of content, she just went out into the woods, went a bit crazy and stayed there forever with a fake version of her dad. Emile de Ravin's most well-loved role outside of the series came from the 2005 crime drama Brick, which averages 7.3.
4 Jorge Garcia - Curb Your Enthusiasm (8.7)
The comedic relief Hurley provided in a world often overcome by ridiculous plots and over-intense situations cannot be overstated. He quickly became a universal favorite character. He hasn’t had a particularly fruitful career aside from Lost, but his guest role in Curb Your Enthusiasm tops his list (at an 8.7 rating), with a brief cameo as himself in Bojack Horseman close behind.
3 Josh Holloway - Colony (7.4)
For a while, Sawyer was very easy to hate. His insistence on giving everyone offensive nicknames and ruining things for the other survivors due to his own selfishness was annoying, but he eventually turned things around and became a vital part of their survival.
The role Josh Holloway took on outside of the show with the best IMDb average is his starring role in the 2016-2018 show Colony, the first lead role he had taken on in quite a while.
2 Daniel Dae Kim - Avatar: The Last Airbender (9.2)
Despite presenting himself at first as a controlling abuser of his wife, Jin underwent arguably the biggest transformation of any character in Lost. His death ended up being arguably the most tragic moment the show ever gave us. Daniel Dae Kim makes an appearance in Avatar: The Last Airbender, which has a 9.2 average.
1 Yunjin Kim - Ode To My Father (7.4)
Yunjin Kim plays the wife of Jin in Lost, a sympathetic character at first who ends up turning into a stony-faced leader by the end. The show she is most known for remains at the top of her list but she also has a prominent role in the 2014 war drama Ode To My Father, which lands a 7.4 average.
