TLC's 90 Day Fiancé: Self-Quarantined is set to feature over 40 former cast members. Fans of the network were thrilled to hear that there would be a new show premiering during the pandemic.
The original 90 Day Fiancé aired back in 2014 and is now on its 7th season. The network felt the show did so well that they added spinoff which included, Happily Ever After, Where Are They Now, Before the 90 Days, The Other Way, and The Family Chantel. Each spinoff has had success with multiple seasons and fans cannot get enough of couples' struggles to find success in their long-distance love.
Currently, reality TV shows all over the world are being pushed back or filming stopped completely due to the coronavirus. Luckily, TLC found a way to get around social distancing by having the reality stars video call in from their homes, which were at a safe distance. Variety reported that 40 cast members, new and old, would be appearing on the newest spinoff. There will only be five episodes and is a limited series thanks to the pandemic that is taking over the world. The show is set to air April 20th and fans cannot wait.
According to the outlet, Howard Lee, who is the president of the network joked that the cast members are more than comfortable talking in front of their computer as it is in their "DNA." The network has also been promoting the stay at home hashtag with heartwarming messages from all their shows and stars, giving their viewers hope that it will end soon. A sneak peek showed David and Annie from Happily Ever After and Pillow Talk telling their fans that when "people stick together, nothing bad can happen." The quarantine special checks in with numerous couples that have remained together. But also, are catching up with others who are single and going through the pandemic alone. The show was produced through a mix of personal footage from the stars and remote video interviews held by producers.
Fans are well aware that 90 Day Fiancé is one of cable networks' most popular franchise as it entails all the gossip of a love story that one could handle. The TLC personalities are also happy to be involved with the new spinoff as it brings them another paycheck. Viewers are excited to see how some of the couples have been handling the togetherness all-time aspect of the pandemic.
