One of the latest TV hits to be born due to Covid-19 is TBS's addictive Celebrity Show-Off. The show is totally virtual and it's hosted by Mayim Bialik, who used to be on The Big Bang Theory. During a recent episode of Celebrity Show-Off, RHOBH's Dorit Kemsley made a surprise appearance that thrilled a big-time Bravo fan, who also happens to have a celebrity mom.
Each week on TBS and its accompanying YouTube channel, celebrities face off to see who can produce the most entertaining. original content. Content is judged by the fans. Fans choose which celebs they want to keep week after week, all based on views & hashtags. The Celebrity Show-Off segment featured actress Tori Spelling, If you weren't a fan of Tori's before, you would be after seeing what she pulled together for the show... and for her son.
Yup, the mega-Bravo fan who got the shock of his life when Dorit Kemsley said a surprise hello was Tori's 21-year-old stepson, Jack McDermott. Tori and her family hadn't seen Jack in months due to quarantine life. For her TBS Celeb Show-Off segment, Tori unleashed "celebraTori". Spelling decided to throw a surprise Happy Pride pool party for Jack. Tori Spelling is actually an ordained minister and officiates weddings. This star has thrown parties before. Some fans may recall that Tori and her husband, Dean McDermott, once had their own reality TV series back in 2011, called Tori & Dean: sTORIbook Weddings. This time, the party she threw was close to home, in her own backyard. The surprise Pride pool party had a DJ, go-go dancers & an actual rainbow-colored Pride pig, Wilbur. However, the highlight of Tori's Celebrity-Show Off segment Pride party was when Tori Spelling announced that even though they were socially distancing, a couple of guests were going to drop by. She then brings a monitor over to Jack saying, saying "I present one of our main queens, she wanted to say hi."
After that, a virtual Dorit Kemsley tells a shocked and speechless Jack, "Happy Pride Month! Hi sweet pea." Jack's response was "OMG, Your fashion is SO good. I have no words, My Favorite Housewife ever. " The other Queen who virtually dropped by for a surprise Pride Party visit was Shea Coulee from RuPaul's Drag Race. The surprise party was complete and came full circle with the appearance of "Deana Martin." Tori said it was "Jack's dream to see his Dad in drag." So, Tori created a replica of one of Donna Martin's dresses from 90210. Tori wore a similar dress on that popular show, which her famous dad, the late Aaron Spelling, created. Dean McDermott proved he had a great sense of humor and lots of love for his son when he pranced out in drag as "Deana Martin". This happened during the surprise party's final reveal. It was a very touching segment that left Jack with a new appreciation for his iconic mother and her appeal to the gay community. Needless to say, fans loved it too and have kept at Tori to do her thing and show off some more, week after week. Dorit wasn't the only Bravo Housewife to appear on the show. RHOA's Nene Leakes recently joined the Celebrity Show-Off competition as a competitor, with her NeNe TV. She joins an interesting mix of celebs, including director Kevin Smith who shows off his Son-In-Lockdown. Singer Jason Mraz stars in his Mragical Mranch, Dj Diplo's Deep Thoughts are featured and hip-hop artist JaRule shares his Dating Rules... he has a matchmaking show. The content across the board is pretty impressive and entertaining. Each of them is worthy of an entire season of episodes.
While many shows have halted production because of the current pandemic, it's nice to see a new show with a hilarious concept. This show allows us to see a different side of our celeb faves. Pride Week isn't the only special day getting attention... this week also happens to be Dorit Kemsley's birthday. Happy Birthday, Dorit!
