10 Hot Fuzz (2007): 7.8

Hot Fuzz is one of Simon Pegg's most popular and hilarious movies, being part of his classic 'Cornetto Trilogy.' Working alongside his friend Nick Frost, the two of them play police officers in a seemingly quiet village where the biggest problem is the wildlife escaping.

However, they end up uncovering a major crime being committed by some of the villagers, which leads to some hilarious action. The character of Nicholas Angel is just perfect, bringing great comedy throughout, all despite the fact that he takes everything incredibly seriously.

9 Big Train (1998 - 2002): 7.9

Big Train might not be one of Simon Pegg's most talked-about roles at this stage in his career, but it was certainly important as he was building his name in the comedic field. Not only did he act as various characters in this comedy sketch show, but he also worked as a writer, as well.

Big Train just highlights how talented and creative Simon Pegg has always been. The series had different sketches each episode, with some being one-offs and others being long-running jokes, with the show proving to be very popular with audiences.

His character is found in Jakku, where Rey is originally shown. She collects junk to sell to him and he makes a big offer to take BB-8 off her hands later on in the movie. He also ends up being robbed of the Millenium Falcon, as Rey escapes the planet.

The Boys has been one of Amazon Prime's most popular shows, taking the classic superhero storyline and completely turning it upside down. Making the heroes out to actually be villains is an interesting concept and one that worked out well for the show.

Simon Pegg is only really a supporting character in this series, but he does add a great deal of seriousness and emotion to his role. Playing Hugh Campbell Sr., who is the father of one of the lead roles, Hughie, he is a great counterbalance to the things going on in Hugie's life, even if he does constantly doubt him.
