Wireless audio enthusiasts have always enjoyed Apple’s earbuds, including its newest version, the AirPods Pro. Apple's pro earbuds boast easy connection to any Apple device, comfortably fit in most ears, offer noise cancellation, and come with their own charging case. The new TCL Move Audio S200 offer a comparable alternative that may cause some consumers to opt for them over AirPods.
TCL's new earbuds have a similar look and feel to AirPods Pro and other than a few differences, appear to be a cheaper way to get a very similar product. Unlike Apple's earbuds, which only come in the signature white color, the Move Audio S200 can be purchased in Classic White, Aqua Blue, or Jet Black. TCL's new earbuds are stylish and come with many of the features and comforts that are associated with sleek Apple products.
In terms of features, the new Move Audio S200 are comparable to AirPods in many ways. Like AirPods, they come in a charging case and connect via Bluetooth. The TCL earbuds have wearing detection, auto play and pause, and touch and voice controls, similar to AirPods. Like the AirPods Pro, the Move Audio S200 also feature noise reduction technology for an improved listening experience. Likewise, both earbud options are easy to connect with a device right out of the box. While the AirPods Pro are water and sweat-resistant, the Move Audio S200 has an IP54 dust and waterproofing rating. They both have foam tips which make them a good fit for customers with sensitive ears, and a suitable choice for people with a variety of ear sizes.
Although the Move Audio S200 are comparable to the AirPods Pro, one area where TCL's earbuds clearly shine is the remarkably low price. Compared with the $159 AirPods or the $249 AirPods Pro, TCL’s new earbuds will be sold in Europe for €99. This makes TCL a great option if budget is a top concern. In exchange for its low price, however, it sacrifices on battery life. Whereas AirPods can provide up to 5 hours of listening time, the Move Audio S200 can only provide up to 3.5 hours.
Apple is known amongst tech enthusiasts and laymen alike for providing cutting edge and reliable products. Although TCL’s new earbuds are less familiar, they could be an option worth checking out. With many of the features users love in AirPods, but at a lower sticker price, they are definitely worth considering for those in the market for a new pair of earbuds.
