Denise Richards recently announced her exit from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after just two seasons. Her second season on the show ended with shocking allegations of an affair with Brandi Glanville. However, despite how tumultuous her time on RHOBH was, Richards is hinting at a return to reality television.
Though Richards credited her departure to wanting to spend more time with her family, many feel her exit was a direct result of the alleged affair rumors getting out. Glanville accused her of being "sexually aggressive" during their tryst, and also claimed Richards and her husband, Aaron Phypers, had an open marriage. Richards adamantly denied the allegations and responded by slapping Glanville and other cast members with cease-and-desist letters. Aside from Garcelle Beauvais, Richards left the show with no friends. In addition to Glanville, the Bold and the Beautiful actress was at odds with Lisa Rinna, who felt betrayed by Richards because of her many lies throughout the season.
Richards appeared on daytime talk show The Real on Monday alongside her friend, and the show's newest co-host, Garcelle Beauvais. She finally broke her silence about her split from RHOBH, US Weekly reports. “I had a great first season. The second season was challenging,” the 49-year-old shared. “I just thought it was the right time for me to go and to just keep focusing on the other projects that I have. I had a great time. I will always be a fan and I will continue to support the show.” Prior to her exit, there was talk that she was in negotiations to return to Bravo, but she couldn't reach an agreement with the network.
It shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that, when Richards was asked about a potential return to reality TV, she teased the possibility. “Absolutely. Never say never,” the Wild Things actress revealed. “I love that things have changed.” Richards also thanked Beauvais for having her back during all the drama that went down in season 10. “Garcelle, it almost makes me want to cry. I truly could not have gotten through this season without you, honestly," she told Beauvais and the other co-hosts. "She is a girl’s girl. A good friend. Your loyalty is beyond and I really could not have gotten through this season without you.”
Beauvais reviously revealed the pact she had with Richards that if Richards left the show, Beauvais would too. Now that Richards announced her departure, fans are waiting to see if Beauvais will return for her second season.
