On The Masked Singer season four premiere, fans got to see the five members of group A perform. With four members left, Giraffe seems to be one of the most difficult celebrities to identify.
Giraffe showed up ready to put on a show with his version of "Let's Get It Started" by Black Eyed Peas. The judges' guesses included Travis Barker from Blink 182 and rapper Vanilla Ice. Fans seconded those guesses, but many felt that the costume and rapping pointed to one of the stars of Hamilton, such as Lin Manuel-Miranda or Christopher Jackson. Still other fans and publications went with Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst. While all the guesses were fairly strong, it seems the clues point even more strongly to someone totally unexpected.
The clue package was very strong for Giraffe. Having correctly predicted all the celebrities in previous seasons prior to their unmasking, this season looks like it could be seriously putting that streak to the test. But it's worth going out on a limb for this one with Beverly Hills 90210 star Brian Austin Green. That might seem like a wild guess, but follow along and it will make more sense. One of the first clues was the actual theme to Giraffe's package, which was a carnival. The 90's teen heartthrob was not just an actor. He also released an album in 1996 called One Stop Carnival under Brian Green. Take a listen below to hear the similarity to Giraffe.
Giraffe talked about having a rollercoaster career, and that fits with the Desperate Housewives actor's history. He mentioned that music was in his blood. Green's father George Green was a country and western musician. As a drummer, he toured with Glen Campbell and did studio work with Frank Sinatra. The next clue spoke about how he stuck his neck out and became the butt of jokes. Green's rap album wasn't so well received, and his attempted rapping career came to a quick end. Giraffe said he was in knots. Green was on the TV series Knots Landing. Giraffe spoke of getting back up after a crash and burn. The 47-year-old has called a 2014 car crash he was in "life-changing." The clue package ended with Giraffe discussing being in the driver's seat, and showed him surrounded by bumper cars. Green was a well-known classic car collector and he has been in the driver's seat of a race car. He participated in the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach Celebrity Race in California several times, and even came out on top in 2010. He closed the package by saying that's a wrap, clearly a nod to his short-lived rapping career.
Although this theory goes against the grain of popular guesses, there is more than enough evidence to support that Giraffe is Brian Austin Green. If all of this hasn't convinced you, there is that sneak peek clue that said he shared something in common with a powerful giant. Could he mean the Jolly Green Giant? For those who still insist there has to be a Hamilton connection, the actor and producer once attended Hamilton High School Academy of Music. Does that count?
The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8 pm ET on Fox.
