Many of these are certainly worth checking out after the show, to see some of the similarities and the way in which Emily In Paris adapted the material. From well-known hits to films that may not have aged well but carry with them some of the same themes, there's a great number of movies that fans of this streaming show can enjoy.

10 Clueless (1995)

Clueless is perhaps one of the films closest to Emily In Paris in terms of the transformation of the lead. Emily enters Paris thinking she knows everything and quickly has to learn about cultural differences and how to operate in her business.

The same can be said for Cher, who believes she's the queen of the school before having to solve some problems of her own. It's a very 90s film, with a few fun twists and a romantic sub-plot that will have Emily fans intrigued throughout.

9 Mean Girls (2004)

Mean Girls has become completely iconic, perhaps because of the stellar cast, and there's a lot of parallels between this high school comedy and Emily In Paris.

Once again, looking at a young woman who's certainly in out of her depth in a changing environment, it explores how far a teenager will go to secure her popularity and what that mission costs her, personally. It's of a very similar tone to the new Netflix hit.

8 The Devil Wears Prada (2006)

This is one of the films on this list that holds the most commonalities with Emily In Paris. Both feature a female protagonist in a new workspace, with a hellish boss and a number of personal challenges that will affect how she operates in her line of work.

7 I Feel Pretty (2018)

One of Amy Schumer's most recent movies, I Feel Pretty is a comedy that explores how far someone can get in the world just through being confident. This has a huge impact in the workplace, where lead character Renee quickly rises up the ranks.

Some of these lessons can also be found in Emily In Paris, and confidence and adapting to a situation are certainly themes that can be found in each. Once again, this is also a film about following one's dreams and how life plans change as what one truly wants comes to the forefront.

6 Bridget Jones's Diary (2001)

The Bridget Jones franchise is entirely built around a woman trying to find her way in the workplace while also navigating a less than successful love life. It explores sexism, getting older as a single person, and, of course, a number of romantic themes.

Bridget and Emily certainly have similar characteristics. Emily also encounters a number of sexist attitudes in her own workplace, something that is taken further for Bridget, as she leaves her job and tries to find her place in broadcasting.

5 Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)

One of the romantic sub-plots of Emily In Paris involves her splitting up from her boyfriend. Her trip to Paris is a great way to get through the breakup since the long-distance relationship was not going to work. Forgetting Sarah Marshall is entirely based around this premise.

4 The Ugly Truth (2009)

The Ugly Truth may not have aged too well in many respects, but at its core, it's a workplace comedy with enough romantic drama to keep fans of Emily In Paris satisfied until the predicted next season of the Netflix show.

Based in the broadcasting industry, the movie explores a number of sexist assumptions and aims to tackle them, as a misogynistic male presenter teams up with lead character Abby to try and host a relationship show together.

3 Legally Blonde (2001)

Legally Blonde may be getting another sequel, but the original movie shouldn't be ignored. Anyone can achieve anything if they put their mind to it, so when the supposedly dumb and rich Elle decides she wants to become a lawyer, many people around her laugh at her dream.

However, with some hard work, she quickly breaks stereotypes and manages to become a great lawyer in the process. It's a film movie about strong women sticking to their guns and adapting against the odds.

2 The Princess Diaries (2001)

No one is perhaps more out of their depth than Mia, who is destined to become the queen of a far off country she has never heard of before. The Princess Diaries encapsulates everything there is to love about this fun genre.
