The Expanse Season 5 Coming To NYCC 2020 | Screen Rant

The Expanse season 5 has received a panel for New York Comic-Con 2020. The hit show, based on the series of novels by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck, first aired on the Syfy Channel in 2015, but made the move to Amazon Prime in 2019 after nearly being canceled. The story is set in a future where the solar system is colonized by humanity, and brewing tensions between the planets have put them on the brink of war. Now the science-fiction series is gearing up for its fifth season.

According to The Expanse's Twitter page, the show's cast and creators will take part in an NYCC panel to discuss the upcoming season. Taking place Thursday, October 8, the panel will be led by cast member Dominique Tipper (Naomi Nagata) and will offer fans a first look at the fifth season.

The Expanse season 4 saw the Roci Crew travel to the colony planet Ilus, to prevent the spread of the dangerous Protomolecule infection. The season ended on a cliffhanger, with an invisible asteroid flying toward Earth that will likely wreak havoc on the planets. The Expanse season 5 luckily wrapped up filming back in February, unlike many shows that were shut down from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Though the convention will be held virtually this year for the first time ever, fans have something to look forward to while waiting for season 5 to arrive. A release date for The Expanse season 5 has not been announced yet, but more information is expected to come during The Expanse panel, hopefully along with some teases and hints about what's to come.
