The Bachelorette: Why Bachelor Nation Has Doubts About Clare's Season

Past contestants on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have recently weighed in on Clare Crawley's journey and shared what they think about her as the season 16 lead.

It seems as though Clare's time as the Bachelorette may be coming to an end on Thursday, November 5. Last week's episode ended with a sneak peak into this week's installment, revealing that Tayshia Adams might finally be making her debut. Tonight, fans will hopefully finally find out what will happen with Clare and Dale. Plus, questions about Tayshia taking over as the Bachelorette may finally be answered.

Since Clare has started her journey on The Bachelorette, many past contestants have had mixed feelings about her performance as the lead of the reality series. Tyler Cameron, who was the runner-up on Hannah Brown's season, revealed he was glad his good friend, Matt James, skipped this season and is now filming his season of The Bachelor. "[Matt James] dodged a bullet," Tyler revealed. "It's just a disaster...It's nothing about Clare. It's a mess, you know? Just to be able to jump and skip and be the Bachelor...good for him, so I am very happy he's not there." Tyler also added that he does not know Clare personally, but commends her for being decisive in her choice. Michelle Money, who was a contestant on Brad Womack's second season, claimed editing is to blame for Clare's seemingly rude behavior. “The way that they’re editing this storyline is so out of context, it’s just so frustrating as her friend," she explained via US Weekly. Tanner Tolbert, from Kaitlyn Bristowe's season, gave a power ranking of each contestant, as well as Clare and Chris Harrison. He gave Chris the number one spot, followed by a majority of the male contestants. Clare was number 30, Dale was 31, and Yosef came in last. Tanner is clearly not happy with the way this season is going.

Former Bachelor Nick Viall jumped in and provided his thoughts on the season, revealing that he believes Clare did not quit the show and producers just adapted to what was happening to make the show more entertaining. Nick suggested the producers found out Clare was texting Dale before the season started and decided to push Clare and Dale to fall in love more quickly. Another former lead, Ben Higgins, believed picking one man from the beginning is sweet, but it does not make good TV. "The problem is we only get four weeks of a season," he revealed on his podcast, Almost Famous. Dylan Barbour, from Hannah Brown's season, provided his thoughts on Twitter, calling this season a, "sh*tshow." He jokingly suggested replacing the season with a showing involving puppies for two hours every Tuesday. “I’m sorry but this is awful,” he added.

Becca Tilley, from Ben Higgins and Chris Soules season, had a totally different feeling for Clare's season. "I felt like I had butterflies when [Clare and Dale] met," the former contestant revealed. "I feel a spark with Dale through the screen, so I can imagine what it’s like in real life." Becca seems to have a lot of faith in the Clare and Dale love story! While Bachelor Nation may be on the fence about Clare's season, they cannot deny that it is definitely one of the most dramatic seasons ever.
