Here's Angela Sarafyan's guest appearance on American Horror Story: Freak Story explained. American Horror Story was created by Ryan Murphy and is an anthology where each season introduces new characters and settings. The show debuted in 2011, with the first season - retroactively christened Murder House - being a twisted take on a traditional horror house story. This first season established the formula of shocking deaths and lashings of gore and sex, and by the second season Asylum it was clear FX had a hit on their hands.
The most recent season American Horror Story: 1984 acted as an homage to classic 1980s slashers like Friday The 13th. The show will return for a tenth season and it will also receive a spinoff dubbed American Horror Stories. This series will focus on anthology episodes, instead of the usual format of one season revolving around a particular theme. After sitting out 1984 - marking her first absence from the series since it began - Sarah Paulson is set to return for the upcoming season 10.
American Horror Story: Freak Show is the show's fourth season with AHS regulars like Paulson, Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters and many more appearing. This season is set in the 1950s and follows a troupe of carnies when they settle into a small town in Florida, with madness and death following in abundance. The only Neil Patrick Harris American Horror Story appearance - to date - came with Freak Show too, where he had a guest arc as psychotic ventriloquist Chester Creb. Angela Sarafyan (Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 2) also made a short appearance as Alice, the lover of Chester's wife.
Chester's backstory on American Horror Story: Freak Show is that he's a war vet with a metal plate in his head. When he came back from the war he found his wife Lucy (Shauna Rappold) was having an affair with their neighbor Alice. The two had no issue being intimate with Chester watching, though Alice showed contempt for him always wearing his uniform and watching them with his doll Marjorie. One day Cheser finds Marjorie missing after Alice took her away, and in his mind, the doll takes human form (played by Jamie Brewer) and persuades him to kill both Alice and his wife.
Chester later hallucinates Majorie having killed both Lucy and Alice, though Angela Sarafyan's Alice would show up in another episode as a hallucination. Since her brief appearance on American Horror Story: Freak Show, other notable Angela Sarafyan movies and TV shows include A Nasty Piece of Work and playing Clementine Pennyfeather on Westworld.
