Another new Cyberpunk 2077 mod has come out, which makes the game's strange pedestrians appear to act more like how they should. Since the game's release back on December 10, there have been multiple issues that have been reported, and one of those issues involved was that NPCs would often do nothing. They'd stand in front of cars, or go to parts of Night City or the world itself that they shouldn't normally have access to. But this mod seems to fix most of that.
Modding hasn't been a stranger to the Cyberpunk 2077 world. In fact, it's been almost a necessity for certain aspects of the game. There have been reports of unfinished parts of Night City, where players have just fallen right through the pavement and into nothing. There have also been players that have stumbled upon parts of the city that seemed to once have more purpose. For example, a transit system that featured a monorail seemed to once be in development but is not working. While it's no surprise that this game has these glitches after being delayed so many times, it's still frustrating.
However, this new mod that has recently come out from TemplarGFX aims to improve the pedestrian AI, titled "Alternate Crowd Behavior." The modder also explained that the update isn't 'technically' a mod, but an upgraded .ini file that is easily installed. The adjustments that have been made have changed some of the distance thresholds for certain NPC's, meaning that instead of NPC's commonly letting a car run over them, they'll try and dodge the car and veer out of the way. Other changes include removal of teleportation on NPCs to new locations, an increased check distance for jaywalking, a reduced likelihood of NPC's disappearing when the player is out of view, and more.
Modding has become a very common thing to do among most PC games, but for Cyberpunk 2077 modders have come to the rescue to fix some of the most glaring issues with it. One mod that was recently released lets the players change their hairstyles, something that wasn't available unless restarting a brand new game. Other mods, like one that lets players make their game look more like the graphics of Doom, are just for fun, but there's no doubt that some of these mods genuinely change the way the game is played are put to good use. One new mod that came out allowed the player to actually see the character that they created in third-person.
Despite all the controversy, delays, and even lawsuits, Cyberpunk 2077 sold incredibly well at launch. Even with that in mind, hopefully over time, the game will be fixed, and everyone will be able to enjoy it as is. But for now, the least the game can do is provide some humor with some of the strangest glitches seen in video games yet.
