Believe it or not, 90 Day Fiancé’s famous fighting couple Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi are not only happily married but celebrating their one year wedding anniversary. Although Angela (who was first introduced to viewers while she awaited Michael’s K-1 visa) still waits for him to come to America, they do seem to be a solid pair. So, how exactly did these 90 Day Fiancé long-distance lovers celebrate their year of much-awaited togetherness? Michael’s Angie spilled the beans about their anniversary on Instagram.
The iconic TLC couple was first introduced on 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days season 2. After meeting Michael online, Angela was apprehensive about Nigerian Michael and his intentions, and the TLC show documented their many ups and downs. They had fights that created controversies. While Angela smashed cake on Michael’s face, accused him of stealing, and broke up with him during a 90 Day Fiancé Tell-All, he admitted to having done a “BJ thing.” However, Angela and Michael overcame all odds, including his heartbreaking visa denial. They finally had a fairytale wedding ceremony, as shown on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever? after season 5. “I know marrying Michael is the only way to be together in the United States,” Angela declared and later made TV viewers laugh with her by saying, “and obey who?” while taking her vows. When Angela, 54, and Michael, 32 finally tied the knot, many people were slightly worried about their future, which would have to include a baby.
As Angela and thousands of 90 Day Fiancé fans keep their fingers crossed, hoping for Michael’s quick arrival in America, the couple has completed year one of their marriage, following their nuptials, which took place on January 27, 2020. The Hazlehurst "Meemaw," who’s been flaunting her shocking weight loss on her @deemangela Instagram lately, took to her stories to share pictures of her sweet gift for Michael. The 90 Day Fiancé icon Angie posted about the dog tag necklace she’d made for Michael, which had a cute message on it for him. “To my husband, meeting you was fate, becoming your friend was a choice, but falling in love with you was beyond my control,” said the quote on Angela’s gift.
“If I ever did anything right in my life, it was when I gave my heart to you,” the message for 90 Day Fiancé’s Michael continued, and finally concluded with, “I love you, always and forever.” Angela also shared the other side of the necklace, which was engraved with a special line, “Love iyami Angela.”
The spousal visa, which is also called a CR-1 visa, allows the spouse of an American citizen to legally enter the United States as a permanent resident, and it was applied for by 90 Day Fiancé’s Angela immediately after their marriage. Unfortunately, on her wedding night, Angela received news that her mother (who has now sadly passed away) Glenda Faye Standridge was hospitalized. In spite of the difficult times, which later included the COVID-19 pandemic, Angela and Michael, who will appear in the Love Games spin-off, have proved their 90 Day Fiancé naysayers wrong. They remain together. Who says reality TV romances don’t last?
