Popular YouTuber and voice actor SungWon Cho, better known as ProZD, will be voicing two non-player characters in the newest update for Genshin Impact. The action role-playing game, developed and published by miHoYo, released in September 2020 and continues to receive post-launch content. The game's world, combat and open-world design was met with positive reception from players and critics.
miHoYo continues to support Genshin Impact with new content, allowing players to constantly return to the title to experience new or returning missions. The game's newest update, Version 1.5, released very recently and brought with it a host of new content. Version 1.5, "Beneath the Light of Jadeite," introduced new characters Eula and Yanfei alongside a new weapon called the Song of Broken Pines. A brand new area of the game, the ancient city ruins of Ridge City, was also added for players to explore. While the newest update has only just released, fans are already looking toward the game's future with the inevitable release of Version 1.6. Rumors suggest that a new five-star character, Kazuha, will be added in this future update.
YouTuber and voice actor SungWon Cho, or ProZD, recently announced via Twitter that he voices two non-player characters in Genshin Impact's Version 1.5. ProZD voices Krosl, a merchant and prominent NPC who is an integral part of one of the new quests added to the game. He also appears as Uncle Dai, another quest-giving NPC. A post on Genshin Impact's Reddit page reveals that ProZD's inclusion in the game is quite well-received by fans. While both of his roles are small, the ever-evolving nature of Genshin Impact's story means that it is very possible for Krosl or Uncle Dai to appear again in the game's future.
While Genshin Impact has established a large and faithful fanbase since release, developer miHoYo is not beloved by all. The studio recently experienced a horrific failed assassination plot, as a man attempted to enter the miHoYo offices with a knife with intents to murder the developer's founders. His motivation was caused by another miHoYo title, Honkai Impact 3rd, which had recently received cosmetic items that were unavailable in China.
ProZD, meanwhile, is very popular for both his voice work and YouTube channel, so his presence in Genshin Impact is very exciting. While both of his roles in Version 1.5 are small, it is entirely possible that both of these NPCs will return in the game's future, especially given the popularity of the voice actor. As miYoHo continues to support the game with new quests and characters, it is likely that other popular voice actors will appear in the game as well.
Genshin Impact is available now on PS4, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
