Seinfeld: 10 Best George & Kramer Episodes | ScreenRant

The storylines in Seinfeld often paired up the iconic lead characters, like when Jerry and George took a ride in Donald O’Brien’s limo, or when Elaine and Jerry struggled to get rid of the foul smell that randomly appeared in Jerry’s car, or when Jerry and Kramer robbed a grave at a pet cemetery to dig a key out of a dead bird.

One underrated duo in Seinfeld is George and Kramer. While they’re individually praised as two of the funniest characters on the show (and in TV history), their adventures together don’t often get discussed amongst the fan base.

10 The Opera (Season 4, Episode 9)

On the whole, season 4’s “The Opera” is one of Seinfeld’s weakest episodes, because it focuses on Crazy Joe Davola, a problematic character who stalks Jerry and Elaine and is far too deranged and creepy to be funny.

But the B-plot in which George and Kramer try to scalp tickets to the opera is hilarious, thanks to the juxtaposition of the fanciness of the opera with the sleaziness of illicit ticket resale.

9 The Susie (Season 8, Episode 15)

The main plot of season 8’s “The Susie” sees Elaine fabricating a new identity after a co-worker gets her name wrong, but the B-plot revolves around George and Kramer.

George is excited to make a grand entrance into George Steinbrenner’s ball with his girlfriend. When he senses she’s about to break up with him, he starts screening her calls so she’ll still have to go to the ball. However, Kramer gets involved as a go-between and ends up being the one who makes a big entrance with George at Steinbrenner’s ball.

8 The Glasses (Season 5, Episode 3)

After George’s glasses are stolen, he needs to buy a new pair in season 5’s “The Glasses.” Kramer knows an optometrist who owes him a favor and tells George he can get a discount if he mentions his name. However, when George mentions Kramer’s name, the optometrist refuses to give him a discount.

So, he goes down to see the optometrist and it’s revealed that Kramer got him off his candy addiction. He gets George a discount by waving candy bars in the optometrist’s face.

7 The Wink (Season 7, Episode 4)

When Jerry accidentally squirts grapefruit juice in George’s eye, it causes an involuntary wink that leads to all kinds of misunderstandings in the aptly titled season 7 episode “The Wink.”

Kramer thinks George wants him to sell Steinbrenner’s birthday card to a pawn shop based on the wink, which puts George’s job in jeopardy. In order to get the card back from a sick kid, Kramer has to promise that Paul O’Neill will hit two home runs in the next Yankee game.

6 The Handicap Spot (Season 4, Episode 22)

In the season 4 episode “The Handicap Spot,” George takes his friends to the mall in his father’s car and struggles to find a parking space. Kramer encourages him to park in the disabled spot, convincing him it’ll be fine, and when they come back, an angry mob has trashed the car and is waiting to tear them apart.

A disabled woman who needed the space ended up sustaining an injury when her electric wheelchair broke, so George and Kramer set out to replace the chair for her.

5 The Dinner Party (Season 5, Episode 13)

In season 5’s “The Dinner Party,” on their way to the titular event, Jerry and Elaine stop off at a bakery to pick up a babka, and George and Kramer go to a liquor store to pick up a bottle of wine.

The two end up holing up in the liquor store when they’re double-parked. Kramer breaks a bunch of bottles and George has to give away his new Gore-Tex coat to cover the cost.

4 The Wig Master (Season 7, Episode 19)

George and Kramer both start parking their cars in a discount parking lot in the season 7 episode “The Wig Master,” but they’re shocked to learn that the parking lot is being used as a kind of brothel, with sex workers servicing their clients in people’s parked cars.

Their suspicions are first aroused when Kramer finds a used condom in the footwell of George’s passenger seat. Kramer himself is eventually mistaken for a pimp after being caught confronting a sex worker while wearing the titular coat from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

3 The Stall (Season 5, Episode 12)

When Elaine starts dating a “mimbo” named Tony, George becomes obsessed with him. He invites Tony to go rock climbing, and Tony extends an invitation to Kramer, whom George tries to dissuade from going so he can keep Tony to himself.

During the climb, George and Kramer accidentally release Tony’s rope and he falls face-first onto a bunch of jagged rocks. This makes Elaine question her entirely cosmetic attraction to him.

2 The Airport (Season 4, Episode 12)

While Jerry’s first-class luxuries are being hilariously juxtaposed with Elaine’s misery in coach 42,000 feet in the air, the B-plot of season 4’s “The Airport” sees George and Kramer driving from airport to airport in a bid to pick them up.

Kramer thinks he’s seen an old roommate who owes him money and convinces George to buy a pair of tickets to get onto his flight and confront him. George ends up getting stuck on the flight after a run-in with a prisoner.

1 The Rye (Season 7, Episode 11)

When George brings his parents over to Susan’s parents’ house so they can meet ahead of the wedding, Frank brings a rye bread to have with dinner and then steals it back when the Rosses forget to serve it. In order to prevent a years-long rift between his parents and in-laws, George schemes to sneak the rye back into the apartment.

Kramer takes the Rosses around the block in a horse-drawn carriage while George tries to get the bread into the apartment. The horse’s gas forces Kramer to come back early, so George has to pick up the rye with a fishing rod.
