Fans of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime got to see a glimpse of what main character Yugi Muto's deck would look like a bit in the future in the Dark Side of Dimensions movie, and there were tons of cool new cards that he showed off while facing off with Kaiba. However, there are still plenty of other cards that he didn't use.
There have been new cards that have been released both before and after the film that would totally fit in as part of Yugi's deck. And it just so happens that a lot of these cards would actually fit right into Yugi's Dark Magician deck.
10 Apprentice Illusion Magician
A retrain of Dark Magician Girl, Apprentice Illusion Magician can be special summoned by discarding one card. Upon being normal or special summoned, it adds a copy of Dark Magician to the hand.
Finally, this card can be discarded to power up a dark spellcaster by 2000 attack points during damage calculation. This card has quite a few effects that can help out in a pinch, though she could leave the field quickly.
9 The Other Magician Girls
Yugi used both Apple Magician Girl and Lemon Magician Girl in Dark Side of Dimensions. However, Chocolate Magician Girl, Kiwi Magician Girl, and Berry Magician Girl were all absent.
All five of these monsters work together to summon one another and power themselves up during battle. It's very likely that Yugi had these monsters somewhere in his deck and fans just didn't get to see them come out onto the field.
8 Linkuriboh
Kuriboh was a favorite of Yugi's throughout the entire anime, so he'd obviously use a few of its powered-up versions in the future. This includes Linkuriboh, which can reduce a monster's attack points to zero once per turn by tributing itself.
Additionally, this card can be special summoned back onto the field by tributing another level one monster, so it's easy to continually bring out to stop the opponent's strongest monsters from attacking.
7 Magician Of Dark Illusion
Magician of Dark Illusion, besides having super cool artwork, becomes a Dark Magician on the field with new effects, both of which can be used once per turn. Firstly, the player can special summon this card during the opponent's turn by activating a spell or trap card.
Additionally, this card can special summon the Dark Magician from the graveyard when a spell or trap card is used while it is face-up on the field. Magician of Dark Illusion has some pretty great utility.
6 Magician's Robe
Magician's Robe is another Dark Magician support card. This card allows you to discard a spell or trap to special summon a Dark Magician from the deck. If this card is in the graveyard and the player activates a spell or trap during the opponent's turn, you can special summon this card but it is banished upon destruction.
Both of these effects can only be used once per turn. Special summoning from the deck is never a bad move.
5 Magician's Rod
The final piece to the puzzle is Magician's Rod. This card can add a Dark Magician support spell or trap card to the hand upon normal summoning.
Additionally, while this card is in the graveyard, if a spell, trap, or effect is activated during the opponent's turn, you can tribute a spellcaster to add this card to the hand, meaning that it can keep coming back again and again in the right conditions.
4 Arisen Gaia The Fierce Knight
Arisen Gaia the Fierce Knight is one of many Gaia the Fierce Knight retrains, and not one that fans have seen Yugi use at all yet. This card can be summoned without tribute if the opponent has more monsters than the player.
Additionally, a Black Luster Soldier card can be special summoned from the hand or graveyard if this card is tributed once per turn. Finally, this card can be used as ritual material in the graveyard for a Black Luster Soldier card. Talk about utility.
3 The Dark Magicians
The Dark Magicians is a fusion of both the two main Dark Magicians, though one can be substituted with a different spellcaster. Once per turn, when a spell or trap card is activated, this card can draw one card from the deck and play it right away if it is a spell or trap card.
If this card is destroyed both Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl can be special summoned from the graveyard, which is never a bad thing.
2 Dark Magical Circle
Dark Magical Circle is a continuous spell card that, once activated, allows the player to look at the top three cards of the deck and reveal a Dark Magician or Dark Magician support card and add it to the hand.
The other two cards are placed back down onto the deck in either order. Additionally, any time a Dark Magician is summoned outside of the battle phase, you can target and banish an opposing monster. These effects are once per turn.
1 Dark Magic Expanded
Dark Magic Expanded is yet another support card, and for each Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl on the field, it gains another effect.
One grants a dark spellcaster 1000 attack points for the turn, two stops the opponent from countering and destroying spell and trap cards for the turn, and finally, for three, dark spellcasters are unaffected by effects for the turn. It's absolutely perfect for Yugi's deck.
