Harry & Meghan Spend Archie’s First Christmas in Canada

Duke Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle are spending Archie’s first Christmas in Canada instead of with the Queen of England, Archie's grandmother. Many royal fans are outraged that the new parents would have the audacity to snub their noses at tradition, especially since Prince Phillip was recently admitted to the hospital while others feel it was the right move for the black sheep of the family.

The Duke and Duchess have had a hard time making a good impression with their subjects since their wedding. In a recent interview, the couple has recently opened up about how hard the transition to motherhood has been for her while in the public eye. Before she was the wife of Prince Harry, Markle had a life of her own. The Hollywood actress started on USA’s Suits, and before that, she opened briefcases on an evening game show, Deal or No Deal. The royal couple recently spoke about the possibility of relocating to Africa, which does not surprise their followers as the two have not had warm reception back in Great Britain.

Usually, the British royals spend the Christmas holiday together as a family, but this year Prince Harry and Meghan will start a new tradition that does not involve their extended family. The famous couple and newborn will leave on a jet plane to Canada to usher in the holiday this year. According to Us Weekly, Buckingham Palace confirmed on December 20th that the Duke and Duchess would take baby Archie and spend quality time in Canada together as a family. The two announced back in November that they had no intention of spending Christmas with Prince William, Duchess Kate, or the Queen as they said they would forgo the traditional celebrations.

The couple confirmed this in a statement, which reads, "The decision to base themselves in Canada reflects the importance of this Commonwealth country to them both." The statement continued, "For security reasons, we will not be releasing any further details and request that their privacy is respected." he Palace spokesman also went on to speak about the couple’s love of Canada and how they wished to introduce baby Archie to their special area. Both Prince Harry and Meghan had visited Canada many times, with Meghan living in the country for seven years.

The royals are fond of the Canadians friendliness and appreciate how they are always welcomed warmly. Royal watchers are hoping that the beautiful landscape brings the couple a closer connection to the subjects they serve.
