10 Invincible (7.1)

This 2006 sports drama retells the true story of football star Vince Papale who played as part of the Philadelphia Eagles from 1976 to 1978.

Though Vince is used to his work at a school, he is eventually given the chance to try out for a professional team despite not having played football in college. This leads him, at 30-years-old, to become the oldest rookie outside of kickers to get a start in the NFL.

The uplifting message was admired by moviegoers.

9 Bridge To Terabithia (7.1)

This 2007 coming-of-age adventure tells of two outcasts, Jess and Leslie, who befriend each other in class. Together, the pair creates their own magical land they call Terabithia to escape the harsh realities of everyday life.

Though the two have lots of fun together, the real world comes knocking hard after an accident forces Jess to move on alone.

8 Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End (7.1)

Based on the true events leading up to the 1966 NCAA University Division Basketball Championship, Glory Road tells of a Texas basketball coach who decides to build a team based on talent instead of race. Despite the players' success, the town remains wary of the new strategy.

The film continues to explore themes of racism and discrimination against the backdrop of collegiate sports.

Though the movie followed a strict formula, its inspiring story continued to stand strong.

6 Eight Below (7.3)

This 2006 survival drama tells of three explorers who are forced to abandon their sled dogs during their scientific expedition in 1993 after a terrifying accident strikes.

Though the travelers work hard to figure out how to bring the dogs back to safety, their attempts do not come quickly. This has the dogs trying to survive the harsh winter conditions alone as they await rescue.

The strong cast performances and genuine emotions were praised.

5 Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (7.3)

Before the third Pirates of the Caribbean film was sweeping in high reviews, the second one was garnering all the praise.

Dead Man's Chest sees the evil Lord Cutler Beckett setting his eyes on Jack Sparrow's compass, which he hopes will lead him to Dead Man's Chest. Meanwhile, Sparrow realizes that he is indebted to Davy Jones and does what he can to flee his fate.

4 The Greatest Game Ever Played (7.4)

This biographical sports film, set primarily in 1913, tells of a blue-collared boy who hopes to break into the game of golf, dominated by upper-class individuals. Though the young Francis isn't born into privilege, he gets the opportunity to improve by working as a caddy and practicing during his off time.

While his father doesn't support his ambitions, Francis eventually enters the 1913 U.S. Open. He readies for the match of his life.

Though the movie flopped at the box office, its compelling story had viewers entranced.

3 Miracle (7.5)

Miracle is a sports docudrama that tells of the United States men's ice hockey team's attempt to win the gold during the 1980 Winter Olympics.

Though the four-time defending gold medalist Soviet team was supposed to win, the U.S. team proved that they were ready for the game.

Kurt Russell starred as the head coach and gained much applause for his performance. The inspirational story and serious rivalry were also enjoyed.

2 Remember The Titans (7.8)

Based on a true story, Remember the Titans tells of an all-black high school and an all-white high school that are forced to merge with each other in Virginia in 1971. This causes great success and great tension to show up on the newly rearranged football team.

Though some critics felt the story was predictable, the social message was one of hope that viewers couldn't help but appreciate.

1 Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl (8.0)

Topping off the list as the highest-rated live-action Disney film from the 2000s is the first installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean series.

The Curse of the Black Pearl has Captain Jack Sparrow arriving at Port Royal without a crew to back him up or a ship to sail the ocean with. Despite this, he finds a bit of luck after the town becomes invaded by a pirate crew that night.

The gang kidnaps the governor's daughter, Elizabeth Swann, believing that she holds a valuable coin with magical properties. This leads the blacksmith that is in love with her and Sparrow to team up and track down the crew.

Fans were eager for more films after watching Johnny Depp's over-the-top performance as Jack Sparrow.
