Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 7, episode 7, "Dangerous Debt" references a moment that should have happened at the end of season 1. In "Dangerous Debt", Ahsoka Tano is told a personal anecdote by Rafa Martez, revealing that the Jedi were responsible for her parents' deaths. The events she describes would have served well as the season 1 finale, as that's when the incident took place in relation to the story.
At the end of its first season, The Clone Wars was a much different world. The focus was on Ziro the Hutt, a gangster who betrayed his Hutt family in a bid for power. In the animated Clone Wars movie, he was involved in a plot to overthrow Jabba and seize control of the Hutt clans. A major part of the said plan involved the capture and execution of Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano. The Republic stepped in and threw him in prison for his crimes, but sometime later, the bounty hunter Cad Bane helped Ziro escape, an action sequence that was never shown on screen.
Over a decade later, this scene has been revealed in detail. Rafa explained that years ago she and her family witnessed his escape. The Republic was in hot pursuit of Bane and Ziro when a nearby ship's engine exploded. The Jedi acted fast, navigating the cruiser away from a heavily populated landing platform. The consequence of that choice was the ship careened through the Martez household, killing her and Trace's parents. In the aftermath, the Jedi didn't offer any assistance, as Luminara Unduli, specifically, only gave them a brief apology. They were left to struggle through a difficult life on Coruscant's seedy level 1313.
This was a somber moment, meant to rationalize the Martez's mistrust of the Jedi. They had alluded to it before, but it was not explained on a personal level until now. At the same time, this scene fleshed out Ziro's story a bit more. By all intents and purposes, this chase should have been included in the Clone Wars season 1 finale, when Ziro escaped. It seemed to strike a similar tone as the speeder chase from the start of Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. It's safe to assume this description is the best viewers will get from this scene, since it's nothing something that will likely ever be revisited in the future.
Ziro's escape was pivotal at that point in the show. However, at this stage, it's entirely irrelevant and doesn't need to be shown on-screen. The only reason it was mentioned was to expand on Rafa and Trace's disdain for the Republic (and the Jedi), and it simultaneously acts as a nice reference for longtime Clone Wars fans who would know what Rafa was talking about. Right now, Clone Wars is approaching the Siege of Mandalore and the heartbreaking Order 66, both of which play a much bigger role in the Star Wars franchise; Ziro, on the other hand, was merely a distraction.
