The Masked Singer: Remaining Contestants Ranked from Worst to Best

Season 3 of The Masked Singer is narrowing down the competition. With only eight performers left, fans have different opinions of who should win.

The voting method is somewhat vague for The Masked Singer making it almost impossible to predict who will go home and ultimately who will win. The in-person studio audience and celebrity panelists vote on the individual performance they are viewing. It is unclear the weight distribution of the votes. The general public does not weigh in at all. Well, not in a way that impacts who stays or who goes. Fans weigh in heavily on social media, often with frustration. How do music icons go home while entertaining but not necessarily talented singers stay? What are the voters basing their votes on?

It is unclear how many tapings the studio audience sees at a time and how much they develop favorites during that time. It is also unclear if they suspect who is under the mask and vote for some to stay based on that. It is clear that the show isn't a traditional singing competition. Most fans are ok with this because like a good night of karaoke the good and bad mixed together is what makes it entertaining. However, as the competition narrows it does seem to take more than just entertainment value to stay in the competition. Social media searches make it clear that there is no one consensus on who should win. So based completely unscientifically on social media chatter, here is a ranking of the remaining masked singers. While not necessarily worst to best in terms of singing, it is the order they might be at risk of going home.

Prediction: Barry Zito

Rhino has offered up many great performances so far but ended up in the bottom three this week. While I don't believe he's the worst performer I do believe he might be at the greatest risk of going home. He shared that bottom spot with Banana and to be honest either of them could go home this week but I think Banana has been able to connect a bit more with viewers. As we saw with White Tiger, this show isn't just about singing skills but also about entertainment value and the connection with the voting audience.

Prediction: Bret Michaels

Banana has had a few hiccups along the way. During his second performance, he forgot his lyrics, something he later let fans know was due to a previous injury which is believed to be Michaels's head injury. Despite this, the rocker has been able to connect with fans in a big way. The audience and panelist seem to love him as do the fans at home. He was still in the bottom three last week and if that holds true the most he can hope for is one more week.

Prediction: Jordyn Woods

This one could possibly be off in that she could end up going home sooner. She managed to stay out of the bottom three this week but that could only be because she had White Tiger in her group. When stacked up against the full super nine she might not have fared so well. This Instagram famous celebrity and former Keeping Up with the Kardashians star had impressed many with a singing skill they didn't know she had, but this week showed her singing was not up to the level of the remaining competitors. While it's safe to say that she will be one of the next three to go, she could end up going before Banana or Rhino. It is highly possible she will actually be the next one to go.

Prediction: Hunter Hayes

Astronaut has given some solid performances. More than enough to keep him safe a while longer. That said they haven't been strong enough to see him winning the season. While he may be in the competition a while along it seems unlikely he'll be crowned the winner in the end.

Prediction: Jackie Evancho

There is no doubt that Kitty can sing. It's been clear from early on she was a trained singer. Her performances have been getting better week by week. We've seen this in the past with performers perhaps getting more comfortable in the costume. It's possible that down the road she could wow enough to pull herself ahead of the middle group but for now, it doesn't seem she's in the top three for fans' choice to win.

Prediction: Bow Wow

Frog has been consistently and solidly one of the better performers. He hasn't had a bad week yet and fans and panelists love every performance. It is safe to assume each week he will be fun and entertaining with solid vocals and footwork, despite clarifying he has no dance training. However, in the past the emotional connection seems to play a large role in determining the winner. A step outside of his comfort zone with a more emotional performance might help him win this. For now, I think he's safely in the top three but not quite likely to win.

Prediction: Kandi Burruss

Several of the panelists have expressed their belief that Night Angel could win the entire thing. She is a phenomenal singer who is safely not going anywhere. She has made an emotional connection with fans. While they may disagree as to whether or not she could win, there is little disagreement that she is one of the better singers in the competition.

Prediction: Jesse McCartney

Turtle seems to be the fan-favorite to win. Turtle has connected with fans week after week. His performances have not waivered in their quality, which has been top-notch. If I were to pick a winner now I'd say that this is Turtle's race to lose. If the next few weeks are more of what we've seen all along he could walk away with the golden mask.
