Tracy Jordan. On 30 Rock, that name is enough to give Liz Lemon a seizure. Their relationship was a complicated one, at best. Essentially, they saved each other's careers and became close friends in the process. At the same time, Tracy constantly did things that seemed like their only goal was to finally drive Lemon insane.
It wasn't just her, though. Everyone was subjected to the ridiculous acts he committed on a daily, if not hourly, basis. If nothing else, Tracy kept life interesting at TGS. But some of Tracy's crazier actions stood out above and beyond all the others.
10 Threw Meat At A Wall
This one seems innocuous but you have to consider the context or lack thereof. Kenneth was looking for Tracy to see what absurd, life-threatening errand he needed to run next. When he finally found Tracy, he was standing in a hallway with a handful of cold cuts and throwing them on the wall. Said cold cuts were, of course, sticking to the wall.
There was no reason given for why he was doing this, nor did Kenneth question it. Then again, there wouldn't have been an answer that would have made sense.
9 The Overspending Trifecta
In addition to fits of insanity, Tracy could also be extremely paranoid. "Dr." Leo Spaceman's dangerous, and often illegal, medical recommendations have only served to exacerbate Tracy's mental health issues. At one point, Tracy became concerned about his wife leaving him if he had enough money for her to do so.
As such, he bought solid gold shoes, a shirt made of money and three hours of prime time network TV to run a special honoring Benny Hill. It was all for nothing, as Angie wasn't going anywhere. Still, the man knows how to spend money.
8 Bat In A Suitcase
Again, there is an issue of context for this scene. When it became public knowledge that Tracy had never cheated on his wife and his image as a drunken miscreant was mostly faked, Liz and Jack went to talk to Tracy. He was concerned that he was going to start losing endorsements and movie roles since that image was how he got work.
He said, "Angie is going to be madder than a bat in a suitcase." Then, he revealed that he had a very angry bat in a suitcase. Why he had the bat was never really explained, though there does seem to be a backstory worth exploring on that one.
7 Bought Lehman Brothers
After the economic meltdown in the 2000s, several Wall Street bros were left without jobs. A group of them ended up at NBC as interns, working on TGS under Lemon. Not surprisingly, they immediately started bullying Kenneth. Everyone else on the show bullied him, so it only made sense that they also got in on the action.
Tracy ended up going drinking with them to preserve his image as a party animal. Unfortunately, he realized that he couldn't keep up with the bros but needed an elegant way out. So he bought and re-opened Lehman Brothers, and put them back to work on Wall Street.
6 Secret Money Hiding Spot
While Tracy was a guest on Larry King Live, a financial crisis broke out. Despite what he seemed to think, Tracy was the worst possible person to have live on the air during the event. His advice was better suited for a zombie apocalypse and only made the situation worse.
During the course of the evening, Tracy revealed he had hidden cash everywhere, including at work. The TGS gang started looking for it but found nothing. Based on the clues Tracy inexplicably gave on-air, only Kenneth figured it out - the cash was hidden in his jacket. It was an effective but odd hiding place.
5 Tried To Shoot Kenneth
After achieving his EGOT, Tracy was launched into a new level of stardom, one that demanded he do useful things for society. It was a living nightmare for him. When he couldn't figure out to get back to his old life, Tracy ran to Africa, which just turned out to be the second floor of Lemon's apartment, which she never went to.
Tracy's next plan, which he did admittedly come up with during a gas leak, was to take Kenneth up to the roof and shoot him. The logic didn't really track but, again, both he and Kenneth were goosed on gas fumes.
4 Made A Porn Video Game
Tracy had two pastimes that dominated his life: pornography and video games. When he realized that a crossover between the two could make him even more wealthy, he set out to create what would have been the world's first pornographic video game.
Frank tried to dissuade him, but Tracy persisted, almost dying in the process. In the end, he was successful and made an incredible amount of money. Keeping in mind that he knew nothing about game design, it was a miracle he did anything at all.
3 Tried To Stab Conan O'Brien
Just after joining TGS, Jack booked Tracy on the show Conan O'Brien used to have on NBC after The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Jenna wasn't too happy about this, as Jack bumped her off of Conan to make this work.
Conan also wasn't happy about this, as the last time Tracy was on resulted in him pulling two knives, declaring that he was a stabbing robot and chasing Conan around the set. The second appearance went better, as Tracy just danced for a long time and then fell asleep in the guest chair, thanks to one of "Dr." Spaceman's probably illegal prescriptions.
2 Stole A Yacht
Outside of constantly being stressed and eating to compensate for it, Liz Lemon was best known for constantly putting her foot in her own mouth. This happened really early in 30 Rock when she first had to apologize to Tracy for insulting him, then had to apologize to everyone else for insulting them during her apology to Tracy.
As part of that apology, Tracy agreed to take everyone out on his yacht for a party. Liz eventually realized that Tracy did not own a yacht, having essentially stolen it. Everyone needed to get out of there quickly when the cops showed up.
1 Tried To Make A Movie About Thomas Jefferson
"Dr." Leo Spaceman was always involved in Tracy's life, often thanks to Jack. While running other tests on Tracy, Leo discovered that he was descended from former President, Thomas Jefferson.
Keeping in mind that this news came from Leo Spaceman, it easily could have been incorrect, but that didn't stop Tracy. He did the only logical thing and tried to produce a biopic about Jefferson in which he played most of the lead roles. It was a crazy decision that went nowhere, the only tangible result being the death of a horse while shooting the trailer.
