Hubie Halloween Images Reveal First Look At Adam Sandler’s New Netflix Movie

Netflix released four first-look photos from its upcoming Adam Sandler comedy film, Hubie Halloween, while also revealing the date that it will be available to stream. The movie will be the latest title from Sandler's production company, Happy Madison, which recently partnered with Netflix on The Wrong Missy and Murder Mystery. Sandler's company has been producing blockbusters for two decades, from 50 First Dates to Grown Ups, and signed an exclusive deal with Netflix in 2014. The partnership was extended in 2017 and once more in early 2020.

Hubie Halloween is a product of Sandler's renewed partnership with Netflix, and, in true Sandman form, the movie will feature many familiar faces and names—including longtime Happy Madison director Steven Brill in the driver's seat. Much of the cast was previously known, but now fans can get a glimpse of the upcoming madness.

Netflix tweeted four exclusive photos, sharing that the movie will be released on October 7, just in time for viewers to get properly spooked out ahead of Halloween. The images showcase Sandler in his role as Hubie DuBois, a kooky resident of Salem, Massachusetts, who finds himself entangled in a real murder on Halloween night. In the other photos, Sandler is accompanied by Modern Family's Julie Bowen as well as a policeman that appears to be played by Kevin James, while the final photo includes Maya Rudolph and Tim Meadows in full-on Halloween garb. Character and role information for anyone other than Sandler is yet to be announced.

Although Sandler recently shifted to more serious roles with 2019's Uncut Gems, the comedian was snubbed at the Academy Awards—and promised to make a bad movie in the aftermath. Quality doesn't necessarily matter when it comes to Sandler, though, as Murder Mystery, starring himself and Jennifer Anniston, was Netflix's most popular title in 2019. Whether Hubie Halloween is intentionally bad or another Happy Madison winner, it will probably be entertaining to a variety of Netflix viewers.
