Watch Dogs: Legion Has A Mission Featuring British Rapper Stormzy

Popular UK rapper and grime star Stormzy will appear in the upcoming Watch Dogs: Legion when it launches, with Ubisoft revealing an in-game music video featuring the artist. The new title is set in a fictionalized London, unlike the previous entries in the franchise that have taken place with the US. According to Ubisoft, Watch Dogs: Legion will launch in October 2020 alongside Assassin's Creed Valhalla following a six-month delay from its original March launch date.

Watch Dogs: Legion is set to be one of Ubisoft's biggest game releases of the year. With the game coming out around the same time as the next-gen consoles, the publisher will be hoping that it becomes a big seller in the holiday season. During today's Ubisoft Forward live event, it was announced that Aiden Pearce will be a playable character despite the change in setting. That might not be a good thing for many players, though, as Pearce was largely seen as a boring character who went through little development in the first Watch Dogs game.

Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Watch Dogs: Legion, which reveals that British rapper and grime artist Stormzy will appear in-game as part of a mission. The trailer is essentially a music video collaboration between the publisher and musician, showing what Stormy's character will look like in the game. A brief message at the end of the footage promises players that they will be able to see more of the rapper in a mission called "Fall on my Enemies" - named after a line in his song "Rainfall" - although it isn't clear what role Stormzy will have in the upcoming action-adventure game. It's also uncertain whether any more of Stormzy's music will appear in Watch Dogs: Legion.

The Ubisoft Forward event was also used to announce a heap of new games along with more information about projects that had already been revealed. One of the most notable examples was a Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, which is set to modernize the combat system from the 2003 game. The publisher also provided some extra information about Beyond Good and Evil 2 and Skull and Bones, titles that the company is insisting on calling "AAAA" games.

Seeing Stormzy in Watch Dogs: Legion is not something that most people had expected to see today. The Ubisoft Forward event sprung a few surprises on gamers but the fact that the publisher was able to keep the rapper's appearance in the upcoming game under wraps is pretty impressive. It will be interesting to see what kind of role the grime star will have in the title and whether other real-life stars will also have cameos.
