Big Brother 16 star Zach Rance has come out as bisexual and revealed that he was in a relationship with Frankie Grande after the show. During his first stint on BB16, Frankie Grande hid his family connection to international superstar Ariana Grande, who happens to be his sister. Nonetheless, Ariana was still starting out her career as a pop musician at the time, which made it a little more possible for the houseguests to not immediately associate Frankie with his famous sister.
As the weeks went by on Big Brother 16, it became evident that Zach Rance and Frankie Grande were developing a friendship that was bordering on romantic. To be fair, however, many of the guys who identified as straight on BB16 were constantly cuddling with Frankie and leading him on even when the jokes were about a potential hookup between the guys. Zach just happened to be the closest person to Frankie in the house, but Cody Calafiore and Caleb Reynolds were also praised by the fans for how they well treated an openly gay man given that they are completely secure in their heterosexuality.
Now, as reported by Us Weekly, Zach Rance is officially coming out as bisexual, and he also revealed that he was dating Frankie Grande after Big Brother 16 wrapped. In a video that was shared by the publication, Zach opened up about the journey that he's had with his sexuality since BB16. Zach started by saying, "Frankie and I got super, super close. I fell in love with who he was as a person. Super funny, super smart. Good looking guy." Zach added: "He was the first guy that I ever hooked up with. After that night, I was very unsure about the direction of my sexuality because I like women." As time went on and Zach attempted to figure out his sexual preferences, he ended up sleeping with another guy after a certain photoshoot. In the end, Zach acknowledged that he's still on a journey and still hasn't gone beyond making out with a man, but that he did enjoy that. So he concluded with: "It's hard for me to say [that] I'm straight. I'm not gay either. I just wanted to (...) come out and say [that] I am bisexual, even though I lean more toward heterosexuality." Some fans can say that they saw this Big Brother showmance between Zach and Frankie even all the way back in 2014. With that said, it can be problematic for the fans to make assumptions on a contestant's sexuality just based on how this person treats someone who is different than them. It was entirely possible for Zach, like Cody and Caleb, to just feel comfortable hanging out with a gay man. However, Zach is now clarifying that his feelings for Frankie started a new journey for him that transcended Big Brother and showmances.
The Big Brother fans now have confirmation that Zach Rance is bisexual. Certain rumors had come up earlier in 2020, but the media chose to wait for Zach to first identify himself as such if this happened to be true.
